Behind Phoenix, Utah, Portland, Indiana, Milwaukee and Oklahoma City? Hollinger has always suffered from paralysis by overanalysis, but this is the most inane thing I've ever seen him come up with.

What did he say about the Pistons? I'm sure he brought up the fact that his numbers spit them out too low.

Is it April? Cuz thats like an April's fool joke. Oklahoma Thunder better than the Pistons? WTF?????

Bad Boys lay the smack down on showtime Lakers, the going to work era forced the NBA to change the rules, went to a lot of ECF and won tons of games and thats not even good enough to beat OKC? LOL

I'll give him Lakers, Celtics, Spurs and Bulls but what in the blue hell is this? The Suns, 76ers, Jazz, Blazers, Rockets, Pacers, Rockets, Bucks and the freakin Thunder ahead of the Pistons.

We all know the Pistons history so there's no need to repeat it, how can "stats" rank the Pistons 13th if anything they should behind the Bulls. The Thunder retain none of the Seattle Supersonics history so how can he justify them at 12?

The only team ahead of the Pistons that won multiple titles were the Rockets and people hate on those titles.

It's because he counts the years from the 50's-60's, and also deducts us for moving from Fort Wayne...pretty lame, but what do you expect

I read this on another pistons board, and some guy did the calculations himself based on Hollinger's point system, and apparently, the Pistons were magically deducted almost 1000 points and should be ranked top five.

Personally, based on championships (which Hollinger just doesn't consider enough), I think it should go: Boston, LA, San Antonio, Chicago, and Detroit.

I'd be willing to bet he penalized the Pistons a bunch of points because of these reasons exactly. The "playing style" point subtraction was probably used against both the bad boys and the recent Pistons. It's a bunch of crap anyways.

Pistons were penalized for pretty much sucking from 1959 until 1980, despite some talented players like Bing and Lainer.

Only after Davidson took over the team did the Pistons become a great franchise... and the teal era didn't help.

Celtics, despite perception, actually were half decent for this decade. It was the 90's that they completely fell off the map with 2 tragedies and a change of venue.
