That was done to stop cheating. I support the action.
Well they also lost a ton of money from this and ****ed of a whole bunch of gaming clans. I was part of a gaming community (don't have the time anymore) and they are really upset about it. No more custom maps or custom settings. A whole bunch of them that had the game on order canceled it. IW really dealt a low blow to many people who bought the COD series every time it came out. I personally would never buy a single player game as it get boring after awhile. Cheating can be handled if the server admin are proactive. Our server was very proactive in kicking/banning cheaters. And don't worry someone will figure out a way to cheat on game consoles too. The worse part is not being able to make custom maps and settings. The stock maps get boring and some are just plain bad.

I am speaking on the cheating portion and cheating alone. Not speaking on custom maps. As far as cheating goes, how can server admin police the cheating. How do they even know the cheating is occuring? ____________________________Cap_Space.™_____________________________

Yes I have, and no they really aren't two different genres (you clearly haven't played borderlands). Both are shooting games, and Borderlands takes it a step further with the RPG elements. Borderlands is a unique idea, COD is the same game it was last time, only easier (which I didn't think was even possible). I can understand why people like it, but I never gave into the hype of COD. I'm not saying it's easier then Borderlands, I'm saying in general, it's an easy shooter, compared to a Halo. Borderlands requires quite a bit of strategy early on. halo is just garbage unless you like unloading a whole clip just to take out a shield then reload to kill him, or melee attack them if your close enough, or if someones shooting jumping 15 feet in the air to avoid fire. screw halo mw2 is the best shooter there is

Actually as competitive FPS console games go, Halo 1 was without a doubt the most competitive and largest skill gap. It's funny because bungie made each Halo game less and less competitive. MW2 is so good tho, there's already like 3.5 million users online after only 3 days. I'm trying to stay in the top 100,000 rank wise, but between work and school whenever I log back in at night I'm down to like 200,000 again. |
