Seems like they don't want to spend any money though so where that will come from, who knows. It's time for Granderson to establish a leadership role.

Anyway, I love what my Indians have done. They've picked up Kerry Woods and made a subtle trade for a good, but not dominant relief pitcher. This will take pressure off Perez and Betancourt and really open things up for Lewis and Kobyiashi (sp?). Our bullpen is offically stacked. Now, it's time to call up Adam Miller and Aubrey Huff and establish our starting rotation. People are going to be surprised at how much we WON'T miss Sabathia.
I think the Indians return to the postseason this year. They're ahead of the Twins, IMHO, but it will be a battle against the Sox for the division crown.
I have a question. How exactly did you become a Pistons fan? You root for The Browns, and the Indians, and it's odd for Cleveland fans to root for any Detroit team and vice versa.

It's sad that throwing money around like that shocks know one when it comes to the Yankees. Do you think they will EVER have an exciting off season ever again?

Aren't you an Ohio State fan? Why does it matter? This may be news to you, but Cleveland fans don't really look at Detroit as any type of rival outside of basketball. Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Cincy, those cities come before any Michigan/Ohio connection. I grew up fans of several Ohio and Michigan teams and I'm not going to switch just because two basketball teams hate each other (trust me, no one in Cleveland would even give a **** about the Cavs if it weren't for LeBron). I hate to sound like a jerk, guy, but too many people have put this Cavs/Pistons thing on too high of a pedestal. Heck, I even hate the Chisox a million times more than I hate the Tigers. I'm honestly failing to see the "hype" in this Detroit/Cleveland thing and I refuse to be caught in it. Now, back on topic. The Yankees will be good, no doubt, but Burnett has only won 12+ games in one season, C.C. is a choke artist, and does Mark really solve all of NY's offensive problems? They can spend all the money in the world, but it doesn't make them the automatic favorite. The Rays still have a deeper team than NY and the Red Sox have twice the bullpen that the Yanks have, not to mention their own great starting rotation.
Don't get your panties ruffled buddy, I was asking because I wanted to know, not because I wasn't to be an a-hole. I grew up with my grandfather who was born in Columbus and grew up in Detroit. Simple answer.

It's weird, but there's never really been a strong Detroit-Cleveland rivalry. Probably has something to due with Cleveland always sucking in every sport So, the Yankees are officially insane. $22.5M a year for 8 years. That's ridiculous. I'd maybe consider giving Tex half that. He's a great first baseman and slugger, but he's not a franchise player. Yankee's contracts: A-Rod - $275M Jeter - $189M Teixeira - $180 CC - $161 That's just their top four. When are they going to learn that money won't buy championships?! Ugh, Tim Jerk-jin is starting to annoy me. Apparently, this signing makes the Yanks the teams to beat in the AL. Did anyone not learn anything from the Tigers last year?! Paper championships are meaningless! ___________________________________ The GTS ContestMichigan Baseball - 36 Time Big Ten Champions - 2007, 2008 Regional Champions

I always thought Cleveland had the bats but never the pitching and flat out clutch factor to win that division. I think they are good but not better than the twins yet.

Hey JROLLA, it's because of the Stankies trying to fill that BILLION DOLLAR STADIUM, that our little Detroit Kittens, and the Pizzaman, CAN NO LONGER COMPETE FOR PLAYERS! When guys are getting 100 MILLION to play baseball, then it's gone TOO FAR!
And what has the Kittys done? They have raised ticket prices, and gotten guys off of wavers! They have basically done nothing but left you more nights with FERNANDO RODNEY! And they have the nerve to ask these fans, in this DEPRESSION LIKE-hanging on by a pinkie toe nail, ECONOMY, for fans to get up their cash to pay for some more overpriced season tickets, to see, A LAST PLACE BASEBALL TEAM!
LIKE I SAID, ROB PARKER WILL BE MISSED!

Lol check out his stats for his career and then ask yourself if that was a decent signing. I cant believe how Dombrowski sat there and talked about they needed to improve there bullpen, and pick up the positions they needed. Well they really didn't improve there bullpen at all. Dombrowski sat on his hands while every other reliever was getting signed. Laird, and Everett are both scrubs. I'am not impressed with any move the tigers have made but Jackson.
slam jam thank you mam

I actually think they wasted money on Everett. We have 3 Short Stops on our team. Guillen could play it you can say he can't play it anymore because of his knees but really left field is going to be alot harder on him. Santiago can play Short, and Inge can play Short no doubt. So that signing to me was just like when the tigers got Jaque Jones a waste and wont even be on the team the whole year.

Early bets for fifth starter? Robertson, Miner, and Willis are in the running. (Rest of the starters: Verlander, Bondo, Edwin Jackson, Galaragga). ___________________________________ The GTS ContestMichigan Baseball - 36 Time Big Ten Champions - 2007, 2008 Regional Champions

Are we sure the other four are definitely set as starters? I would guess the Tigers will try to give Dontrelle as many opportunities as he can to try to win a job in the rotation. I don't think Edwin Jackson is penciled in as a starter just yet, but I haven't been following things so some of you would know better than I would. I think there's a chance that both Willis and Robertson end up starters to have two lefties in the rotation. And, I think the Tigers will be very cautious with Bonderman.
