I'm excited for the movie "Where the Wild Things Are," the film adaptation of the children's book by the same name. It's a book both my niece and nephew really liked when they were toddlers. Don't know how they made such a short story into the length of a major motion film, but I'm looking forward to it. Also, the other day when I watched Basterds, this trailer for the movie "Avatar" caught my attention. I guess it's James Cameron's first major directing project since Titanic. I didn't know anything about the story or the movie so I wiki'd it. Obviously a sci-fi movie. The cinematography and use of colors and scenery appear to be magnificent, just visually wonderful. The guy from that Terminator Salvation movie is the lead and his love interest is Zoe Saldana, although they're humanoid characters in a bunch of make-up. The story’s protagonist, Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), is a former Marine who was wounded and paralyzed from the waist down in combat on Earth. Jake is selected to participate in the Avatar program, which will enable him to walk. Jake travels to Pandora, a lush jungle-covered extraterrestrial moon filled with incredible life forms, some beautiful, many terrifying. Pandora is also home to the Na’vi, a sentient humanoid race that humans consider primitive, yet are more physically capable than humans. As humans encroach deeper into Pandora's forests in search of valuable minerals, the Na’vi unleash their formidable warrior abilities to defend their threatened existence.

There he meets a young Na’vi female, Neytiri, whose beauty is matched only by her ferocity in battle.
Over time, Jake integrates himself into Neytiri's clan, and begins to fall in love with her. As a result, Jake finds himself caught between the military-industrial forces of Earth, and the Na’vi, forcing him to choose sides in an epic battle that will decide the fate of an entire world.

I can't wait till Unstoppable come out. Plot: A rail company frantically works to prevent an unmanned, half-mile-long freight train carrying combustible liquids and poisonous gas from wiping out a city. With Denzel Washington,Chris Pine,Rosario Dawson,Jessy Schram and Kevin Dunn. Come out November 12 2010. I know it's a really long way but the movie sound really good.

I hear Broken Horses is supposed to be good.

I can't wait till Silence come out. Plot: Two Jesuit priests, Sebastião Rodrigues and Francis Garrpe, travel to seventeenth century Japan under the Shogunate regime (which has isolated itself from all foreign contact) to see how the evangelical mission is going. There they witness the persecution of Japanese Christians at the hands of their own government, which wishes to purge Japan of all western influence. Eventually the priests separate and Rodrigues travels the countryside, wondering why God remains silent while His children suffer. With Daniel Day Lewis and Benicio Del Toro. Come out 2010. I know it's a really long way but the movie sound really good.
