Lebron gets dunked on but Nike doesn't want people to see tape of dunk

AKRON, Ohio -- You want to see video of Xavier's Jordan Crawford dunking on LeBron James?

If so, too bad.

Because you're not going to see it.

Thanks to Nike.

Turns out, there were at least two cameras rolling Monday night when Crawford dunked on James during a pick-up game here at the LeBron James Skills Academy. It was a two-handed jam, the kind that would've circulated quickly on YouTube. But Nike officials eliminated that possibility shortly after the dunk happened by allegedly confiscating tapes from various cameramen.

Freelance photographer Ryan Miller was one of the cameramen shooting the game.

He told CBSSports.com that Nike Basketball Senior Director Lynn Merritt took his tape.

"He just said, 'We have to take your tape,'" Miller said. "They took it from other guys, too."

Worth noting is that there is no policy against filming at the LeBron James Skills Academy, and Miller said he had been filming all day without incident. Nobody ever told him to stop. Nobody ever said there was a problem ... until after Crawford dunked on James.

"LeBron called Lynn over and told him something," Miller said. "That's how I knew his name was Lynn. LeBron said, 'Hey, Lynn. Come here.'"

Minutes later, Miller said Merritt demanded his tape.

"There's nothing I can think of besides LeBron just not wanting it online," Miller said. "It's a good story to tell people, I guess. But then again, I'm kind of ****ed. I lost my tape."

Not sure what the big deal is.

Jason Maxiell has dunked over Lebron before, and Maxiell sucks. Lebron is still, by far, the best player in the NBA.

The best basketball player in the world playing a pick-up game. I'll overlook the "injury" factor. But if you kill him, everybody expects it. If you catch a bad break, which can happen because cats play to win against the best, then you're embarrassed.

Embarrassment hides everywhere underneath you when you're on top.

I'm just surprised the cameramen didn't fight or run or something. No way I'm coming off that footage easy. If you take pictures of basketball, that's like treasure just falling intp your lap.

Typical...just another pampered punkish player who should have gone to college to be coached up and humbled. Kid needs to be schooled in sportsmanship.

Instead they continue to feed his massive ego.

It's sad really. It seems Lebron's ego has become bigger than the sport.

This reminded me of watching Lebron in the playoffs this season. There was a couple occasions where a ref actually called a foul on Lebron....Yeah, I know...it happens very few and far between, but I think it was in the Orlando series and a ref called a foul. Lebron looked at the ref and just stared down the ref with a look like he was saying, "What the F**k are you doing!!!?? Calling a foul on me!!!???". Like as to say, to the ref, "You should know better than to call a foul on me."

I remember thinking at that time, Lebron really is the King. He pretty much seems to have the power to call the shots however he sees fit. I was also further thinking at that time.....wow!!! If that was Rasheed who had looked at a ref like that after a foul call, Sheed probably would have gotten a double technical, thrown out of the game, suspended for the next game, and fined. But in the NBA, Lebron is the King, and he rules the palace and everyone else is just his servants.

This action by Lebron just shows that this power has obviously gone to his head. In his Kingdom, He controls his sponsors, and they bow to his every beckoning call.

Bow Down and all hail the King!!!!

And at the same time, this could all be false information.

Let's not throw Lebron under the bus, eh? He is THE BEST player in the world, without a single doubt.

It could have been Nike's doing, not Lebron's.

We'll never know.

The way it happened, after he got dunked on, Lebron called the Nike rep over to him, said something. That was when the rep started taking video tapes. Very little doubt that it was Lebron that wanted the tapes, not Nike.

If I had been a reporter, I would have run out of the building.

You suck at defense if you don't get dunked on every so often.
