PROGRAMS, GET YOUR PROGRAMS, FOLKS YOU CAN'T TELL THE PLAYERS WITHOUT A PROGRAM!

Well Piston fans, here we are, another season, another opening night. This time it was down in Memphis to face the lowly Grizzlies. And the Pistons HAMMERED the Alan Iversonless Grizz, by 22 points. One point short of the team record back in 1967, when they beat Cinncinatti Royals by 23. It's a new year, a new season, and we have another doormat team, Oklahoma coming into the Palace on Friday for a HOMECOMING victory.

Here's how I really feel about this season. SO WHAT! I must admit, I just didn't care up until last night. I watched, but flipped between the World Series, and a replay of the 1968 World Series with the Tigers and Cardinals. Memphis was the rec league team you want to play, so I treated that game as almost being an pre season game. I knew Ben Wallace would come back and taste the FOUNTAIN of YOUTH, but I still see and feel what I felt all along. When Big Ben, MINUS THE FRO, and Kwami with the braids, are on the floor, it's a FIVE AGAINST THREE GAME. Yes Ben looks like the Ben of old, but he is playing WAY WAY WAY over his head at this point. He will eventually break down, but for now, let's enjoy watching him play like he did back in 2004-2005. And speaking of the past, this season is being billed as being unpredictable and exciting. I say, it's the 2000 season all over again, rebuilding toward the future. But there is no TEAL on their bodies this time. It's gonna be up and down, choppy, and they may tease us at times, but I don't see them going anywhere unless they can prove me wrong. For some reason, I kept looking for Rasheed to come off the bench, knowing he's now a Cucktic. I especially thought of him when Lil Ben, Gordon, got hit and fouled on that 4 point play, three pointer.

I watched this game with my parents. Oddly enough, we all said the same thing at different times. This team is going nowhere, and Tom Wilson will get them and destroy them, now that Mr.D is not there to keep him from TEALING OUT! But first he's got to get rid of Joe to gain full control, and this mediocre season could be the out Wilson is looking for. Tom Wilson is not a bad guy, but he has ideals, and he likes to tinker. And when he tinkers, you end up in bottom of the NBA WILDERNESS for 10 years, you suck, and end up wearing a horses head, running from your great past, and WEARING TEAL! But with the Detroit Shock being allowed to move, the wheels are already in motion back toward the TEAL ERA MENTALITY!

Good luck with the season Pistons, but I can't lend my full heart into this mediocre product with guys wearing the wrong numbers, who are broke down, or can't score. This year, you truly will need a program to keep up with all the players! But at least we get the GONG BACK, AND REBOUND ROLL!

GO PISTONS!

So, you are bailing on the team already? This seems oddly similar to the Tigers thread. This team might not go anywhere, and then again they might. Who is to say that the team going out there now is the team that will be playing at the end of November much less the season. We also have 2 young rookies who did not even play last night.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't most experts blame Davison for not going over the salary cap to keep Mike James after the 2004 title and getting rid of Corliss in a salary dump for the superb Derrick Coleman?

AWWW is someone bitter because their beloved Shock (who no one else cared about or they'd still be here) got moved? You try to hide it but get to the meat of this excrement filled post and it's pretty obvious.

You sir are a clown. Go move to Tulsa with your Shock.

I wouldn't worry what this clown has to say. When the team is a championship contender he's all out front leading the bandwagon with his blue and red pom poms and ALL CAPS POSTS!!!!When the team is average, he's on here predicting their demise and mocking the franchise. Great fan.... NOT.

i love it how someone can take the time to write a nice long pistons downer thread after the biggest opening night win in over 30 years? if you don't see any potential in this team then i think you may be blind...

Oh I think they like me, better yet I know, lights camera action when I walk through the door...

I think this team will be pretty good, if not fun to watch, when they all start gellin'.

Ben Gordon showed us why he was brought here. There are a lot of offensive options. Hopefully as a captain ben Wallace can remind these guys waht defense is like.

This team will make the playoffs. It's the NBA. You have to really REALLY suck not to make the playoffs. Look at how bad our squad was last year and they still made the playoffs.

I noticed that nobody mentioned that Daye and Jerebko were out with suspenions, we looked great last night and just imagine what we may look like with those two adding even more depth.

And another thing. They got nothing from Villanueva in the first half and were still in control of the game.

Now I know Pimp in the Box, but as for the rest of you, WHO IN THE RED WHITE AND BLUE HE-LL ARE YOU? WHO ARE YOU TO QUESTION ME AND MY LOYALTIES TOWARD THIS TEAM YOU LITTLE DWEEBS? Okay, so you're ignorant and stupid and have gotten away with this cowardly bashing on other message boards, but not on THIS ONE YOU WON'T! What I post on the off topic forum is for THE OFF TOPIC FORUM! This the PISTONS FORUM YOU MENTAL MIDGETS, and we are family here, no matter what. NO IT IS YOU WHO SHOULD LEAVE, BECAUSE I'VE BEEN HERE, WHEN YOU NEVER WAS!
Unlike most of you SO CALLED PISTON fans, I have earned the right to say what I say about this team and it's organization. So if you NEWBIES don't mind, shut the heck up and enjoy what's about to be stuffed down your throats this season, because you just might learn something from me and my fellow Pistons Message Board Family on this board who have been through the ups and downs throughout the years.

I AM ASHAMED TO EVEN CALL MOST OF YOU PISTON FANS! And boys, you've got a long way to go before you can even attempt to get under my skin. I've battled with Heat, Cav, Faker, and Celtic fan long before any of you ever got a brain cell to come to this great board. And trust me, you are not even in that level of competition. SO GET THAT WEEK CRAP OUT OF HERE, AND GET IN LINE! Say what you're gonna say, come hard, come correct, bring it from your heart, your experience, and stop the childish bashing of a fellow Pistons Message Board family member. What are you CAV OR MIAMI HEAT FANS NOW? I won't let you turn this board into where it is heading! That's not the Pistons way.

And boys, IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, DON'T READ IT OR COMMENT ON WHATEVER I SAY!

Pimp in the Box, make sure you check your PM!

Now as for the rest of you, YOU WOULDN'T KNOW DETROIT BASKETBALL if it crawled up your leg and bit you in the privates. The former DETROIT SHOCK represented this area the way a team should. They played hard, tough, blue collar, went to work, played the right way, and always found a way to win. Since 2005, this Piston team forgot that, and did not represent me or anybody on this message board who called themselves Pistons or Pistons fans. The guys went up championship hill one time, and did not have the guts to do it again. The ladies, the Shock went up that hill 5 times, and 4 times came back with the trophy, and the banner.

Now you can question the league, the style, ladies playing hoops all you want, because that's just the way you are, but you can never question their heart, hard work, and overall results on the court. I saw something in them like I saw in the Michigan Panthers, the Detroit Drive, and the Detroit Shock. I saw winners in leagues that needed my help, and they rewarded me and the fans in the stands, with CHAMPIONSHIPS! And that's more than most of you have seen in your short lifetimes. If you had grown up in the 70's and 80's with these losing teams, and got 10 championships out of it, YOU WOULDN'T BE SAYING THE B.S. THAT YOU ARE SAYING TO ME NOW!

Well Adam I happen to agree with your initial post 100%.(Everything regarding the Pistons, I don't care about women's hoops) What I don't understand, is why your not a fan if you don't think your team will win. This makes no sense to me. I'm a Lions fan, always have been always will be, they stink, I no they stink, I'm still a fan. I still watch every game, and I'm still emotionally invested in the Lions. Same with the Pistons. They definitly aren't as bad as the Lions, but they aren't good either.

Pistons fans accept mediocrity. Every fan should be ripping this organization, and it's leader Joe "he can do no wrong" Dumars. 6 ECF in a row and 1 title is unacceptable to me, and it should be to you too. We never went over the Luxury tax to win . We never added that player we needed, because our owner is cheap. (Rasheed don't count, after Rasheed) God bless Bill D, from what I've read he was a good man, but let's face it winning wasn't priority number 1.

Now our title run is over, and you fans are all excited because we beat Memphis. Ben Wallace is our starting center people, and Kwame Brown is in the rotation. This front court is terrible, Marc fricken Gasol looked like Dwight Howard, and it's only gonna get worse. Excuse me if I'm being negative, I'm just being real. Cheap ownership+bad GM moves=lottery.

I'm not saying Joe D should be fired, he did build a champoinship team, but he doesn't get enough heat.

They can comment on whatever they want too, just like you have the right to call them 'newbies'. Ignorance breeds ignorance.

It appears some of the main stays and leaders of this board, have forgotten our unwritten rule of keeping it in the family. And it appears that main stay, hasn't fully recovered from all the beatings they took over the summer on the Off Topic Message board, because they can't separate the difference between the two.

Ruffnuts21, thanks, for the backing and the kind words. Now there's one word you will never get from these fake fans on here, THANK YOU! Ruffnuts21, these NEWBIES have no ideal what me or you have seen over our Piston lives. Like I said, I've seen this movie before back in 2000!
I like oh so many of you, have sunk blood, sweat, tears, love, and cash on this team. And to not to be able to call it like you see it, is JUST PLAIN BEING A SHEEP OR A PISTON SLAPPY!

I'm elated the Pistons won on the road against a pathetic Memphis team. The problem as I see it is the combined scoring total for the 5 bigs was 18 points. That won't get it done against good teams. Villanueva is the likely candidate to put up decent numbers. He better or the Pistons will be under 500 ball club.
