We don't need a repeat of the disaster this season, Gordon and Rip should both be starters and on this team they can't. This WILL create problems, I don't care what anyone says. Also Ben and Rip are getting paid too much to come off the bench, if Tay or Rip have to go to get a legit big man, I say move Rip. Tay is younger and moving Rip makes more sense.

Gordon is not Iverson - he is accepting of this role and wont cry about it. You will see a lot of sets where Rip-BG-Stuck or Bynum in and though I didnt like this at first but the more I think about it - it may be a strong attack. Time will tell.

Gordon is NOT Iverson. I grant you that but that signing seriously didnt make sense to me and still doesnt. Actually I'd go right back off the bat and trade Gordon. Rip has been the face of the franchise along with Chauncey and now that its only Rip I think Gordon should be dealt to GS for Biedrins. Thats not being sentimental but I think we would have better continuity if we kept him. Plus our backcourt would become extremely small if we let Rip go.

Ben Gordon cannot be traded until December 15, pursuant to the NBA's CBA.

We finally have a very good bench, with Bynum, Gordon, Afflalo, Daye, Summers, and Maxiel (okay, at this point, mostly Bynum & Gordon) that can put up easily 35-40pts any night, and everybody wants to trade our starting SG away.

We are not going to win the title next year no matter what we do this summer. As such, Dumars is rebuilding us the right way by adding pieces bit by bit. We will probably have to sign another big next year with the MLE.

I would trade Tay before Rip. Tay disappears in the playoffs or anytime he faces a stronger player. He doesn't play the way he did when he used to have awesome defensive plays. In fact he seems to get out of the way and watch a lot on defense. It's not like he goes for blocks or tries to take charges and can't do it - he avoids any contact without making an effort on defense. He used to play great defense and play hard and that made him very valuable. But he has stopped playing that way. Coaching was not he issue and neither are rule changes. The problem is a lack of effort. I would rather keep Rip and trade Tay.

Rip is a scorer. Theres no way you should replace him. There not that many off the ball offenders in the league anyway so I would keep Rip. Ben Gordon is nowhere near the player Iverson is and I mean that in a good way. Replace Tay instead. He's done everything he could in Detroit and he should move on because his contribution to the team has become really stale.
