Nope dont have a son im 21 and played 4 years of basketball and have been coaching 2 years. I just dont like people who try to anylize the game when they have never played or coached. Like i said to Stephen A. your missing my point. Im not saying the pistons Defense was good your right it was terriable. What im saying is on a team like the Suns to stop them you half to hit shots and put them in a half court offense.

I've never coached but I have played basketball. For many years actually. What the hell does hitting shots have to do with sticking to your man on D, or contesting that layup/dunk instead of just watching the guy run past you to the basket?

hitting shots has alot to do with it, when u make a bucket they have to inbound it which gives the defense time to set up, when u dont score they can run up the court before u can set up ur defense, an i agree our defense hasnt been there much this season, we gotta hang our hats on D again, same story every year, its a matter of them doin it

You guys act like you have never watched a single game of NBA basketball in your lives. If you were told that the Pistons would go 3-1 and beat the best team in west by double digits you have taken it right there. You guys can't see the entire picture you only see the last 48 minutes and base everything on that. For the rest of you who is the fool, the fool or the ones that follow that fool.

You're absolutely right dunkin, it's hard to stop steve nash from getting out on the run and finding the open player when you shoot 3/13 from 3 point land. That creates a lot of long rebounds so they can get out and run. If you noticed we did do some pressing, in an attempt to slow them down and get them into the half court game, we just couldn't hit a jumper tonight to give us time to set anything up. I thought the way Kwame played was extremely promising, especially on the defensive end. Like dunkin i'm not saying we played good D tonight, but we did play great team D in LA the other night. It's the end of a long road trip where they spent 13 of the last 15 days on the road, no worries.

Oh I think they like me, better yet I know, lights camera action when I walk through the door...

we played terrible defense tonite, or i shud say, our defense has been sluggish all season long. but you cant win a ball game when u are ice cold n the other team is firin up n knockin down jump shots, even though how hard you tried to play defense.

We got how u feel, dyess..

Our interior defense is bad but it doesn't help that our guards are getting beat off the dribble every time down the floor either forcing Sheed or Kwame to come out and contest the shot, resulting in numerous in numerous offensive rebounds and easy putbacks for the opposition. Even that scrub center on the Nets had a big game against us.

Wow

Some of you guys complain over EVERYTHING! This is why I try to stay away from this forum after a loss.

The suns played great, we couldn't hit a shot, that's the reason our D wasn't good.

It's not the end of the world....

I don't like the way they take the first open 3 thats available to them. They deserved that loss, and Afflao should've played way more. Im tired of seein Rip have bad games, for 35, 40 minutes long. Bench him a quarter and play the guy that plays better D.
Things will get better though. Onc we gell in into the new Defensive plan, we should be OK. I think we could've been way bettter on thepick and rolls Either way on the court.
They did'nt play Maxi, and he's best suited for the fast pace teams.

Thank you!!! I dont get how someone can sit there and say what does hitting shots half to do with defense!! Its simple you hit a shot or some shots slow them down put them in a half court offense, get time to set ur D up. When your playing a team that is gonna grab rebounds and run run run and run some more thats going to be hard to stop. You can set up defenses when the other team is in a fast break, you have no time to match up at all.

slam jam thank you mam

Actually, the Suns play more halfcourt offense now. The difference in the Laker and Suns game was this. The Lakers had a bad shooting night and made the Pistons look like they play great defense. Fisher had many wide open looks but missed them. If they had made those it would have been a different game. And obviously the Suns made their shots and the Pistons defense was exposed.

oh wow. There is no excuse in not getting back on defense if the Pistons don't make a shot. They had the time to get back but they didn't. It's not like the Suns were running down the court. They were walking back up and Sheed was leaving Amare uncontested like he does KG all the time. THAT's what happened.

While I don't think their defense is as bad as some posters are saying; I can say they have a lot of work to do. The pick and role defense has been terrible and last night agains the Suns they gave up way to many points in the paint. That's why they shot 57%. Of course, that's what the Suns do. They have two of the best bigs that score in the paint and they have the best point gaurd at getting the ball in players hands where they are at their best.

The other thing you have to take into account is the fact that the Pistons tempo has picked up since getting Iverson. That means that the other team is getting more shots up per game and getting more opportunity to score. When we had Billups, we played at a slower pace giving the other team less chances to score.

Alright I'm sick of this.

All of the people that are going to complain after one loss (1 of 4 on a western road trip) need to get out the eff out of here.

It'll be a long season, and us fans who have consistently rooted for this team shouldn't have to look at this crap every time we lose.

for the love of god.. SHUT UP.

I could care less if I even get banned anymore.

Root for New Jersey.

Sorry for the language to everyone but, however, I'm seriously trying to get banned here, I can't take these idiots any longer.

I'd have to hide posts from half of the forum users.

I don't want to do that.

There are a lot of immature posters on here who seem to think the Pistons need to win every game and be all world every game. I like to see what these same posters do in their own life that makes them such overachievers...doubt any of them are.

If you can't handle a loss then find another hobby. Life is about winning AND losing but some people live in nirvana I guess.
