I think its painfully obvious now that damage control was the reason AI left. Every bad game equaled millions in real dollars less on his contract. Subsequently he had to be "injured" for the rest of the season to ensure that max contract next year. Even coming off the bench would of had a negative effect on his contract numbers, as no GM wants to pay super star $ for a bench player.

Too bad its a lot about the $.

A little bit crazy, but I get the job done.

Nope. He wasn't going to get max money or even close to max money next year either way. Teams don't have money to pay him and teams that do are saving it for 2010. It wasn't about damage control. It was about him pouting and being a baby and not doing "everything" to do to help the team. It was not about money. It was about AI being selfish or Joe Dumars and Michael Curry having enough of his selfishness.

How some of you write some of the most stupidish NO, i don't know? Iverson, for what ever reason you want to believe, probably went to Joe. They both agreed it was the best thing to do! Why does it always have to be some negative NO with most of you? Listening to most of you , it would appear to the stranger, as if you'll never won anything.

"When you are running an organization, you have to have the vision and the foresight to be able to change and put the team through transition," Dumars said. "But you also have to be patient enough to sit back and allow it to play out.

They agreed on what buddy? That the pistons and Iverson cant coexist? That the pistons unselfish style of play dont mix with Allen Iverson?

Look buddy I dont know what you expect to hear from us, US REAL PISTONS FANS. The people that love the unselfish and smart basketball, and have enjoyed watching a team without Superstars dominate the league for so many seasons. Because regardless of having just two finals appearances and one ring, this team has always been relevant in the championship conversation.

People react in different ways, Personally I dont care about Iverson know that he(or his agent or JOE) decided that the best thing for everyone was hes departure. You cant try to cover the sun with one finger, but the fact is that we went from contenders to near lottery team. The fact is that Chauncey gave Denver their best season in ever, fastest 50 wins in their history. Fact is were 7-1 with out current starting line up. Fact is Iverson instead of accepting a lesser role, that would've allowed him to dominate second units, he decided that running away the situation was the thing real "Warriors" do.

Call it casualty, call it bad luck, say the pistons suck, and that he is a future hall of famer, quite frankly we can care less, because everyone is entitled to an opinion. I dont expect you to change your point of view about this situation, so if theres something that we can agree here is that we should stop trying to convince each other whos right and whos wrong. Good Luck to AI, and support him buying his next bobcats t-shirt. Or Olympiacos you never know.

IMO AI couldn't have come out of this situation looking any worse. No one seems to be buying that Allen is injured. So it looks like Allen was either fired for being a distraction or quit the team. Either scenario isn't going to be to appealing to GMs around the league.

If Allen was thinking about his contract he would have swallowed his pride and embraced coming off the bench. It would have shown that Allen has matured as a person and he is committed to winning. After all that has happened this season, AI's chances off getting anything above the mid level are gone. His chances of signing with a contending team are probably over. Right now AI is looking at signing for mid level or less. Playing for a bad team that is desperate to sell tickets or being forced into retirement because he can't get the contract his ego thinks he deserves.

This might sound crazy but I think AI's biggest fear was that if he came off the bench, IT WOULD'VE WORKED. He just could'nt accept being a great 6th man on the best team he's ever played on going far in the playoffs because he is'nt starting.

But AI's fake injury is the best thing that has haappened to us this season.

Iverson was ready to come off the bench as sixth man at both guard spots. He was not ready to come of the bench in limited minutes. He felt bad about Curry;s decision to continue to play Will Bynum.

I am glad the experiment of playing AI with Bynum is over. They are so short. I also see why Curry was willing to **** off AI, now that I am seeing Bynums recent production

Iverson may have said he was ready but I don't think he ever really was (an MRI would have shown a back injury, but ego injuries don't show on MRI tests).

And if his back really was injured, the limited minutes would have been entirely appropriate, especially since Iverson claimed at one point that the Pistons were "rushing" him back.

And Bynum earned his minutes...
