1. We NEED Rip!
2. I think we can do without Tay. I think between JJ and Daye they can more than make up for what Prince brings.
3. I'll take Max over Wilsux.
4. Our "point guards" are not even LOOKING to pass. One of them has to TRY to get their teammates involved.
5. CV can be an offensive beast, his defense scares me but I think his ceiling is higher than I originally thought.
6. At times this team plays with a moxy I haven't seen in years.

This team is going to be very very good. When rip gets back watch out. Just give it a little time to gel.

This team is becoming one of those teams that will be pesky... I see what joe d is doing now.. We have some nice pieces in places "minus prince"... We our a low post player away from challenging for the 3 or 4th spot in the east...

Bosh or Boozer will be a piston before the yr is over..

Just can't wait to hear everyone on Wilcox's jock once he starts getting it going. Won't happen though if he doesn't have guards to get him the basketball.

I see guards...I see guards everywhere. Too bad they can't see the rest of the team.

Good post Microwave. I agree we need Rip. The entire point in getting Ben Gordon is that we have ANOTHER great scorer on the court coming off the bench. Having Ben start is not what was ever envisioned. We now have an all-star starting and an all-star to be backing him off the bench. It's a beautiful thing. I also agree that the point guards are definitely score-first guards, but I don't even really mind that if it equals W's. CV is a very good player and I have a feeling his stats will skyrocket as the season progresses and he begins to "gel" more and more with our team and our system. In some ways Max and Wilcox are pretty similar: They both are offensive minded, have a pretty limited shot, and showcase some highlight dunks.

Our guards look like AI of old out there...they don't even give the offense time to set up and run a darn scheme.
They push push and shoot it 95% time when they have the ball in hand....that looks to me that when the other guards touch the ball Including CV they chuck it up because they feel like they're not going to get it back....this leads to poor shot selection

& most of all it leads to our bigs getting tired of run run bang bang and having to be out of position/work harder to rebound....this leads to less effort by our bigs if.....

our guards cant learn to set up an offense slow down the pace and push when pushing is good and most of all share the dam ball!

Good post. Totally agree. Stuckey and Bynum must learn when to go to the rim and when to kick it out. The other night Stuckey had five shots blocked. Was he expecting the refs to bail him out?

If/when we get a guard that can avg at least 7+ assts and 26+ pts at the 1 or 2 we'd probably be satisfied. AI did this in 4 different seasons, with no other premier scorer.

AI is/was considered a poor % shooter, but ironically he has a higher fg% for his career than Chauncey, who is not widely viewed as a poor shooter despite his fg% (and no, most of Chauncey's shots are not 3's).

Even primarily playing the 2, AI has 2 more 7+ asst seasons than Chauncey. If you try to find another 2 guard with at least 2 30 pt, 7+ assist seasons you'll find only AI, who did it back-to-back.

AI could get Stuckey's #'s when he's 40. I wish we did have a guard that looked like the AI of old, instead of looking like an old AI.

I also agree that we need Rip to get back to the finals. He is a beast and we need him to be a successful team. His leadership and experience is very critical. I also agree with Ben Gordon coming off the bench to back Rip up and hit some big shots. The Possibilities are endless. Especially if Charlie Villanueva keeps it up. We will be very dangerous if we picked up another front court player. I was watching the Portland game last night against San Antonio and Portland and they started three guards Steve Blake, Andre Miller, and Brandon Roy. Trade Tay for Przbilla and Outlaw and I guarantee we can make some noise. Greg Oden is a beast and if he can learn to stay out of foul trouble Portland shouldn't have a problem getting rid of Przbilla and Outlaw for Prince.

Forget field percentage. Iverson is considered a terrible shooter because he IS.

If Stuckey starts playing like that selfish stat stuffer - seasons over.

We're 6-0 if Rip and Tay are healthy.

The pg position definately has to be addressed, though I favor Bynum for his spark. Without a playmaker, it dosen't allow players like Wilcox and Max to play to their fullest potential. Also, I believe it'll get Kwame going (no jokes) wtih a few easy chippies to boost his confidence. I'd like to see Maynor Red Face
