"Ben agreed to come here knowing he would come off the bench," the source said. "That makes it completely different than Iverson coming here ... Gordon is choosing to come here and play the super sub role."

OH MY GOSH! He actually wont complain like AI. Instant offense, clutch shooting, no more inconsistant offense.

You got a source for this? If this is true, this makes me a lot more optimistic about the signing.

We still need some quality bigs, though.

this is taken from the front article on ESPN.com.

So Rip is all happy now. Gordon wont complain, he chose to do this, he has 6th man award.

Lets just look at getting a center!

This is good news. Hopefully we can re-sign Dice and get a quality big man (not Kaman or Camby, for the love of God).

Personally I don't like it.

I want this team completely revamped. If we had to keep Hamilton, we need to trade Prince. You can't have a lousy front-court of Charlie V., and Kwame. It won't work. I'd be interested in seeing what Rip could do at the three. Gordon off the bench means no time for Afflalo and Will Bynum. I thought they both earned their time last season. Maybe trade Prince for Chandler. Joe must have purposely given us many options to help Rip play the three if this turns out to be the case. You have three draft picks, Afflalo, and now Villanueva who can all play that position. I have a feeling Tay is on his way out.

Your wrong. Villanueva is a PF and will play that position.

So we're paying $55 mil for a backup?

We're also going to keep Rip, who will no doubt want to remain the 1st option though he's almost out of his prime?

Kwame's going to be our starting Center?

Can we even afford Dice now, without going into the luxury tax?

Not good, IMO.

Ben Gordon will be the Jason Terry for us.

Im pumped for this. If we get a decent defensive center we can contend for the east.

We are young, we have veterans, we have hunger, we have 3pt shooting, we have more youth!

The Pistons aren't even over the cap, let alone the luxury threshold.

Your wrong. He is capable of playing the three and the four.

That is great that he won't complain about starting....But you still only end the game with 5 player. That is where the conflict will come, who sits the last four minutes?

So we are a solid 5 deep at the PG/SG position but our front court consist of Kwame, Max, and Charlie V??? And tay still doesn't have a legit, proven back up. Our season hinges on us landing Dice, getting some production from the rookies and landing some gems with minimum contracts.

Maxiell said he has developed a trick to help him slow down and focus at the line. "It's all mental, it's always been mental," he said. "I just say 'Happy Gilmore' and try to go to my happy place. I think of my happy place, picture my girl and shoot."

Tay for Tyson Chandler.Would save N.O. 1.5 million this year and get them a player they like.Rip could play some at the 3 to get Gordon plenty of minutes and split the rest of the small forward minutes between Afflalo and the kids.Charlie V could play a little 3 with a big line-up.

C - T. Chandler/ Kwame
PF- Charlie V/ Max/ Summers
SF- Rip/ Daye/ Jerekbo
SG- Gordon/ Afflao
PG- Stuckey/ Bynum

I think Chandler would be a great fit for the Pistons, but the two proposed trades they had for Chandler that we know of (Oklahoma City and Phoenix) have been for expiring contracts. They don't want to take on a longterm contract for Tyson Chandler. They want to dump his salary. Now that the Pistons have used their cap space, trading for Chandler has basically a zero percent chance of happening.

I don't mind him coming off the bench..But Dumars can't let the Pistons coming into next season with Kwame Brown as the starting Center. Either Prince or Hamilton gotta go.

slam jam thank you mam

whether or not Rip stays is still up in the air, but I definitely like the BG signing now. He has the chance to be the second best sixth man in the NBA after Ginobli. This is the place where he belongs.

It's crazy they don't even want someone who can play in return.

To the bold, dont worry about that. Thats a great problem to have.

About Prince's backup, Gordon can take some of his minute (and cover up his lack of production) and our 3 rookies can do an OK job in my opinion of backing him up.
