Tuesday December 30, 2008

Richard Hamilton was unable to practice this morning and will miss his third straight game with a left groin injury.

Pistons coach Michael Curry says he will stick with the same starting lineup he's used in the past two games, both Pistons' victories.

Amir Johnson will be getting his the starting nod along with regular starters Allen Iverson, Rodney Stuckey, Tayshaun Price and Rasheed Wallace.

New approach to Harris

The Pistons formulated a defensive plan for Devin Harris when they met earlier this season. But Detroit did not stick to it, and Harris scored 38 points.

More importantly, Harris' big night led to Detroit's first loss of the season.

"As a coach, I'm kind of upset at myself because in the summer, when we went through all the teams, he was one of the guys we said we were going to trap," Curry said. "And we didn't trap him. He's tough to trap anyway, but ... we allowed him to get going."

“I expect the game to be physical,” said Harris. “They’re a physical team. They’re a good defensive team so I don’t expect to get in the lane as easily as I did in the past.”

The Pistons are not the only team Harris has lit up this season.

The fifth-year guard is averaging a career-best 23.8 points per game, and also 6.4 assists. He joins Cleveland's LeBron James and Miami's Dwyane Wade as the only players in the NBA ranked among the top 11 in scoring and assists this season.

Links when someone gets 'em would be fantastic - the holidays in Michigan were GREAT for watching a few, but back on the road means no more access 'cept through links.

Sorry Evil, I haven't had the time the last 2 games to get the game thread started.

Edit: oh, well look at that. I did start Monday's thread. It was Fridays thread I missed. The holidays got me real busy.

Amir had a great first quarter but **** he fouls too much.

Not a bad first quarter. We basically got nothing out of Iverson or Rasheed yet we're still up four.
