Hopefully Dumars has the same 4 game plan to move this guy as he did with Billups. I dont really get mad at him anymore because he is what he is, but does this guy ever play inspired? He is so lifeless on the floor its like he is a dead man walking. Absolutely no burst. Not to mention he offers little on offense anymore. Adding a athletic three who attacks the basket ands offers a legitmate threat to score is number two on my list.(Big man #1)(#2 might be easier to find. Josh Howard when healthy anyone?) Perfect fit I think.

I would love to trade Tayshaun for a big or even for a defensive SF (I have not really valued his D since '04). Realistically I do not see any trades happening.

Yes, trade Tayshaun. And, yes, trade Maxiell.

Problem is to whom? Therein likes the problem. What team will take those guys, especially for something the Pistons would want in return? Teams aren't going to give up expiring contracts for either or both of those guys. Pistons aren't going to get much of an upgrade for either of those guys either.

If there's a deal where the Pistons could get either or both of those things, I'm sure it will be done. But, right now, it's hard to believe a trade like that is even out there for the Pistons.

I agree the word i would use to describe him is just very lazy. Not sure why he plays like that now maybe all his desire is gone to play the game to win maybe he already got what he wants with money and a ring.

slam jam thank you mam

Not sure if anyone remembers the fast break play the other night where Tayshaun chased after the fast break and was easily in striking distance for a block. Instead he just watched the shot go in. Very disappointing...

I know every player on this team has had some disappointing moments, but I noticed alot of 3 point plays because Tayshaun had soft fouls. I cant remember if it was in the OKC game or MIL, but I think he gave up 2-3 three point plays. Sickening.

I agree with Joe Jam, I can't see anyone taking Tayshaun and Max off of our hands and giving us back anything of value.

Are you serious???? I cant believe you'd be talking about Tayshaun Prince like that. I admit he is sometimes spotty. But the man has won a nba championship, and a Gold medal with the Olympic Team. Those are some pretty big achievements in his career and I'm sure someone is willing to give back fair value for him. Not to mention his come from behind block on Reggie Miller, or his defense on Kobe Bryant to seal the deal for the Pistons championship. Oh another great thing about Prince is that he hasn't missed a game in 6 seasons. Calm down and give the man his props.

this anti-tay bias is clouding peoples judgement. some are really underrating tays trade value. its dumb to to group him in the same category as maxiell. tay is a postive assest with postive trade value.

some tay trades:

tay for prizbilla and outlaw
tay for boozer
tay for haslem + filler
tay for s. jackson

I am giving him his props, HE'S A ROLE PLAYER! However, at this particular time we (as a team) need a player that brings more scoring and better man-to-man defense

The championship, the block....all that crap was years and years ago. Its about what you're doing now and so far, he's doing jack. Trade em...please!

You're right. Trade him for LeBron or Paul Pierce.

Do you know of someone on the Pistons who would be better?

Eh, It's only been three games but he is averaging 12 points and 5 boards on 48% shooting. I guess I don't despise him as much as the next guy. But for everyone wanting him gone, he is the most likely player to be traded. I used to think Rip was likely going to leave as well, but I really think the 'Stuns appreciate having him in the starting lineup and Ben Gordon coming off the bench to chip in twenty or so points.

If we had the chance to trade him I would defenitely do it. Yes, he is a good player! He averaged 15, 6, and 3 and shoots a great percentage. But thats role player numbers and he gets paid like a Ben Gordon.

I dont mind Tayshaun in the regular season, hes a quality player. But in the playoffs he doesnt score and doesnt do a great job of stopping guys like Pierce. And its because he has lost a step, Hes a skinny kid from Compton who minimized Kobe in the Finals, but right now, He cant check a 30 something Paul Pierce. I love Tayshaun, hes a great player, but he is too inconsistent. I could deal with that if he was being paid like a role player, but he isnt.

I would trade Tayshaun for Outlaw/filler
I would trade Tayshaun for Marvin Williams
I would trade Tayshaun for ANY expiring

Its not the fact that he cant guard LeBron or Pierce, its the fact that he dont make them work on the other end at all. He has disappeared the last 3 playoffs. I am sick of him. Sickening to think we passed on Melo because we had Tay.

Last playoff he played with back and hip injuries. And, before that, he played extended minutes while Hamilton and Sheed were injured.

Even injured, he's better than any other SF they have. Last year they had Herrmann and Sharpe. The year before, Jarvis Hayes. They need to keep Prince until Daye is ready to replace him, maybe by the end of Prince's contract.

Now I will start this by saying that I am a Tay Hater and have been for years. I would literately that Tay for a shopping cart of basketballs and be very happy about it.

Everyone asks who we should be playing at SF well
A) We could trade Tay for a small forward, Rudy Gay?
B) We did draft 3 SF lets see what we got
C) Rip can and does play well at the 3, he is a better defender than Tay no matter who they are playing against, also what team can gaurd Stuckey BG, and Rip, can you see LBJ gaurding RIP of Gordon?

I will say this about Tay's stats this year on paper they look great but he has been such a non factor in every game it's such a joke I mean Rip's been hurt he needs to step up. Also the number one reason why I want him gone is that he is soft already this year I have seen him run away from getting in the path of a guy who is dunking the ball what a Pu$$y.

Completey agree. I also think that Tay needs a change of scenary. Put him in a good environment like San Antonio or the Lakers and you will see the Tay of old come back. His time here as ran its course.

Rudy Gay makes $3.2 million. What other two players would The Grizzlies be willing to give up along with Rudy Gay to make this trade work? Oh, but if the Pistons bring back more than two, they would have to release someone.

You're dreaming. Memphis isn't going to trade Gay in a deal for Prince. Yes, Memphis could take on more payroll, but are unwilling to do it. Prince would have to be traded to a contender hoping to win a championship, and they may offer garbage contracts and maybe a pick (#25-30) in return.

Detroit's best hope is to develop Daye, or someone else they pick up in the draft.

I don't agree that Hamilton is a better defender at the 3, but that would definitely make our defense weaker at the 2 and the 1. With Gordon in the lineup, Stuckey usually defends the SG, with Ben on the PG. Ben is not a good defender against 1's or 2's. Stuckey is not as good as RIP at defending the 2.
