AUBURN HILLS -- The Detroit Pistons will be without two of their five starters tonight against the Orlando Magic.

Forward Tayshaun Prince will sit out the game with a lower back strain, ending his streak of consecutive games played at 496. That streak was the second-longest current streak among active players.

Prince has played in every game since sitting out April 13, 2003, in a game against Memphis in his rookie season.

Prince will not travel with the team this week for games at Toronto and Orlando and will be re-evaluated Saturday, the Pistons said.

Pistons coach John Kuester said he does not expect guard Richard Hamilton to play on the two-game road trip either. Hamilton has not played since the season opener due to an injured ankle.

Lets hope he does not have anything serious going on with his back and this is more of a pre-caution. I would like to see Daye tonight.

Sounds like Jerebko is going to start for Tay tonight.

They should've just started Prince for a minute and pulled him to keep he streak. :/

This is great, no 3-16 night from Prince maybe we'll have a chance to win now. If only Stuckey could get hurt...

I am glad Prince's streak is over. He sometimes is tired or hurt and has killed his body over this stupid thing. Plus, I am curious about starting Hamilton at small foward and also play backup shooting guard.

In this senerio, Prince would be backup small foward and would also play power foward, as long as we have other tall players in the game to help him.

prince at pf = epic fail .. he would get pounded and mauled all night
