Not at all, most of the time they don't even put a hand in the face. I don't see anyone ever box out for a rebound either.

you just figured this out? the pistons haven't played hard core defense consistently night in and night out since the LB days.

It's even worse now. People harp on the Nuggets for not playing defense but I think we are worse.

whats sad is this team hammers down and plays defense when they want to. They just choose not to do it and obviously Curry isnt huge on defense or we would be seeing the Pistons holding opponents to no more than 90 points a game which hasn't happened.

Curry isn't huge on defense? Ha, if he's not a defensive coach then what the hell is he? I sure hope he isn't an offensive coach.

And its not that the team doesn't play defense, its just they don't defend the pick and roll very well at all. And Curry doesn't adjust to it, he doesn't play any types of zones so pretty much we're going to get killed by pick and rolls all season long until Curry makes the adjustment.

Here we go 1 loss and we suck. My god im almost emberessed to be a piston fan when it comes to some of you fans. Seriousley we cant win 82 games. Do you guys realize how good of a west coast trip that was 3 out of 4 ill take that anyday. But 1 game we play bad and we cant do this and we cant do that. pathetic just pathetic

ZONE is crap because teams have people that can shoot the ball. So when you do play zone they sit there wide open and they will hit them more than likely. MAN TO MAN is better if you know how to play it which no one in the NBA really does except Boston. And the Spurs in the postseason. lol..

It's not just one game, I am not impressed with Detroit's play so far. Celtics and Cavs are too good this season for us to not play defense AND have horrible scoring droughts.

So did we "Not" play defense in LA the other night. I mean dang Kobe tore us up 12-30 shooting. You cant be impressed with any team so far its what 10 games into the season. THE point isnt about winning 3-4 games it's the way the pistons have been playing non existent defense that the Pistons will suffer in the long run..like against the Celtics or CAvs in the playoffs. WE ALL know the Cavs and the Celtics will play defense and if the Pistons defense isn't as great as theirs at least we are in deep hogwash.

Exactly. Anyone who knows anything can see that this team's once defensive approach has gone out the window. That's not a good thing.

yeah, really the pistons haven't played defense since game 7 of the 2005 finals or at least up until the 4th.

Look kid you keep talking about Defense This Defense that. My question is how many years have you coached basketball?? Im guessing you havent coached any unlike me. Now you keep saying cant play defense they cant play defense. Look as a coach you always say if your players cant hit shots there is nothing to do. But Defensive schemes are on the coach just as much as the players.

But....Look at a team like the suns they wanna run and run some more. If you can hit shots your not going to beat them. There gonna get long rebounds and nash is gonna run the court. You hit shots slow them down put them in a half court offense its a whole different story. Look what the pistons did to the lakers. They hit there shots put lakers in a half court offense kobe shot 12-30. You half to understand offense=Defense and Defense=offense. they feed off one another.

I'm not a kid. Second of all, go back and watch the Pistons in the 2004 Finals and look at the defense and compare it to the last 3 seasons.

Nobody cares that you coach your son's rec league team. The point is, when you play defense you keep yourself in the game. You can't just say, "Well shots aren't falling so we'll just let them drive it to the basket uncontested."

Nope dont have a son im 21 and played 4 years of basketball and have been coaching 2 years. I just dont like people who try to anylize the game when they have never played or coached. Like i said to Stephen A. your missing my point. Im not saying the pistons Defense was good your right it was terriable. What im saying is on a team like the Suns to stop them you half to hit shots and put them in a half court offense.
