Ben did look good out there last night. We all know he has great chemistry with Rip and Tay and he was solid defensively and made a few great passes. I can see him doing what he did last year with the Cavs. Starts the game and plays most of the 1st and 3rd and lets the young guys finish the halves.

Hard to deny the fact that he looked somewhat rejuvenated out there. That put back slam, and some of his rebounds were reminiscent of old Ben.

Very true. He's got a lot more in the tank than people think. And Tay, Rip and him moving the ball around...that was good to see.

Wait till the 60th game of the season, then see whether Ben looks rejuvenated.

By that time hopefully Jmax/Wilcox/CV and the two rookies are easing some of the burden on him and Kwam.

He's a guy whose going to be more important early than later. When team chemistry has to be worked out, and he's played with Kuester at Cleveland and already has chemistry with Tay and Rip. Then the rest of the pieces fall together.

Would it kill everyone to admit that not all of Ben's follies are age related?

Ben is all about the system. He is more of a football player than a basketball player. When you set up the defense for him, he can do his thing.

Unfortunately now he actually is older and will show signs of aging in the form of nagging injuries.

Good luck Big Ben.

I knew he was back after the Tip Slam, when he pulled off that look and run he did after slamming one down of Shaq in the Finals.

On February 24th, 2008 Ben Wallace scored 12 points on 5/6 shooting, grabbed 10 boards, had 2 steals and one block in 33 minutes of play. He was also responsible for this play, which was hands-down my favorite Cavs play of that year. I was thrilled to have a guy who actually understood defense instead of Drew Gooden.

Many Cavs fans were ready to claim that Ben had his swagger back. You can probably see where I am going with this. I've said it before, and I will say it again: He can really play well if he is rested and doesn't play too much. However, if you expect him to play big minutes and perform in April or May, you will be disappointed. He gets tired very easily and when he does, he looks like a shell of his former self.

The guys is a very smart player and can look like a former DPOY when he is well-rested. That's not up for debate. I think most Pistons fans understand that. Also, for the money Dumars paid, you can't ask for a better player.

The combination of a deep frontcourt, a coach that knows Ben and has earned his respect and having Arnie Kander will maximize Big Ben's production.

My only question is how long will it take him to grow his hair back?

cause he was a shell of his former self, ya said it right, he's back to himself now that he came back HOME!

an lets be real here what did the cavs do to, make ben justify puttin his heart into a organization that doesn't know what there doing? biggest posers in the league are quite possibly the cleveland cavaliers. An i bet the cavs love this bulletin board material, yet i know it won't back fire, ao i could care less, an will say it anyway. there pathetic front court, minus shaq they finally got a stud there, is weak! andy gets by in his career by flopping, which is so low i can't even describe how pitiful that is, whats worse is they let him make a career off of it. way to show your not swinging on lebrons sack, then ya got z, man with out that j, he's nothing, just box his azz out he's null, ill even adress the back court, mo over rated williams, is only a jump shooter, d west good defender FOR HIS SIZE, jump shooting occasionally slashing west, both are weak, an got inflated stats from playing the great one lebron james him self. now anthony parker, great! add another shooter haha, moon not as good of slasher as you'd think, an he aint getting any younger either, for someone who made a name off of his not as great as people think hops. is anyone else worth addressing, ah yes boobie another ben like piece ya underutilized, you left mo an west out there when ya had boobie on the bench? dumb azzes, an i bet they wonder why they lost, having been an boobie on the bench was blatant ignorance, boobie actually proved he can get it done, unlike those other schmucks

No Offense is right. Keep Ben between 15 and 20 minutes a game, play him at center as little as possible and he'll pay off big time. He grabbed 7 rebounds in 13 minutes last night.

He's making a good case to start at the 4, but he's a 35 year old energy player. Unless he's drastically improved his cardiovascular, his swagger's return is limited by age, especially with the faster offensive pace this season.

Well I definitely disagreed with the move to bring Ben back, but if he truly can be rejuvenated now that he's back here and play the way he did in that first game and what appears to be a couple of the other games that weren't broadcasted, then he could be much more of an asset than I ever expected. I agree that it can't be anywhere near starter minutes. Last week, I was saying somewhere around 10 mpg, but if he can play at a high level, perhaps it is more around 15-20 mpg. And I also agree that Ben should probably play more at PF than C.

That said, I still have great doubts that he'll be able to be productive enough to earn close to 20+ mpg and that he'll stay relatively healthy throughout the season.

But Ben is used to being doubted so hopefully he proves me wrong.

I love how we live in a world where Fox News is "fair and balanced" and the garbage coming out of the OP is the "voice of reason."

Anyway, if you think Detroit is some kind of magic elixer that will make Ben Wallace return to form and suddenly stop being old and a shell of his former self, you have another thing coming. If you think Detroit is somehow better than Cleveland (that won 66 games last year and got better) merely because you think it is "mighty," you have another thing coming.

To all of the reasonable people in this thread (you know who you are), I agree. Ben Wallace can be very good when not relied on too much and that was a great pick up by Joe D. To Voice of Reason, I can't wait to see you eat some crow.

Also, I hope you all enjoyed that video I posted. I actually uploaded it to Youtube just for this thread. I also wanted to show that while Ben Wallace can bring it when he is well-rested and trying to make a good impression on a fan base, he starts to look very vulnerable and terrible if too much is asked of him. Caveat emptor.

watch the cavs go up in flames yet...AGAIN! hey we chocked a lot too, at least we got a ring for it.

I could brag bout the stones 64 wins, with out a lebron james to carry us, yet u don't see me doing that cause we lost in the ecf, hmm isn't that the same exact thing that happened in cleveland? you can't brag to someone who has more accolades then you do, wow ur franchise got 2 more wins then we did, counting only one season. whats the overall records look like? an we werent always a powerhouse team, yet i figure highly we have your number on that one. your team that got better, didn't get better then the ALMIGHTY! not just mighty look up the definitions, pistons. Will defeat those sorry azz posers. an i mean u wanna brag bout your 66 wins, lets talk bout those 16 loses, which one was handed to you via, the worst pistons team we seen practically this decade!!! an we had quite possibly the worst coach in nba history attempting to formulate game plans! what happens when the now youthful ALMIGHTY DETROIT PISTONS! face the one time an soon to be again laughing stock of the league, an knock those imitators off this podium they prematurely were placed upon... id say we have quite a bit of similarities to the supposed great laker team of 04, with the second or i should say biggest part of your team since he's actually a champion, the one who was 1/2 of that team. in his prime! getting defeated by the 3 time CHAMPION, ALMIGHTY DETROIT PISTONS! very soon to be 4th, an 3rd with a vastly over hauled roster, man the good times are bout to roll yet again

one last thing to add, you guys really think cleveland is a power house defensive team??? wait till they get a lil pistons reality check haha, your bigs will be on the block asap, trading block that is, along with everyone else not named lebron james.

An you know whats best of it all, the cavs will try their **** hardest to prove a point, then they will realize if they be honest with their selves they got handed a L by a vastly better team. Then what happens, can you say lebron in nyc or miami with wade, or whatever else he will do to get a ring, cause cleveland is definitly not a place for a champion to be hanging out
