The table is set for an unusually high level of annoying posts this season. Since we have so many players who play the same positions with similar talent almost every good or bad performance will be followed by people crying and hollering to have somebody else take their minutes or posters beating their chests after their guy had a good game.

If Stuckey has a bad game people will be saying "See he sucks," and "Bynum should start" or "Move Ben to PG." Maxiel, Wilcox, Big Ben, Kwame and Jonas will also have their favorites and haters popping up after each good or bad game.

Heck, people were even saying Rip was washed up last year before he went on a tear.

Of course you won't ever hear from the haters after a player they hate does good. And no matter how many facts you present to the haters, they won't be swayed and will rely on simple anecdotal evidence because they got it in their head that a player sucks for whatever reason.

You'll have the Stuckey/Bynum/Gordon feuds
The Rip/Gordon feuds
The Prince/Rip/Daye feuds
And the Wilcox/Kwame/Maxiel/Jonas/Big Ben feuds

I think Charlie V. may be somewhat safe because his game is unique enough to be separate from the rest of the big men.

So here's to a long season of irrational love, hate, insults, debate, false assumptions, straw man arguments, baseless beliefs, exaggerations, skewed numbers and oh so much more! Let the fun begin!

Word. I agree, the board has been less fun since last season, than EVER before....

I hear what you are saying. We all know this board doesn't have the reputation of being patient and watching the team and player develop. In fact, many fans on this board have never know the Pistons when they were bad or rebuilding. It's going to be hard for the next couple of years watching these young players grow and develop. We will see who is left in a year or two.

to be honest i think it's a lot like 03, all the bandwagon fans could care less right now, till we sha sha shock the world... YET AGAIN!

sn evil, i think you selling this squad short, i know rebuilding, an i know what i see right now, it's not rebuilding, its revving up right NOW!

That way it's a self fulfilling prophecy. Whomever predicted the whining would start and it would suck, has now been proven correct.

My fellow Piston Message Board members, I see exactly what you mean! On my first post, I've had to slap some of these WHIMPS around already. They think this is just a place to attack and break off one liners. They believe this is just like every other message board they've been on. But we have standards here, because we try to to treat each other like a family. We may disagree with each other from time to time, but we all know we are here for one specific reason, THE DETROIT PISTONS. And that is in bad times, the mediocre times, or the bad times! We know the history, we have the experience, and we know we have the passion in our bones. But these NEWBIES or Dweebs have no freaking clue but to bash each others heads in. I REFUSE TO DO IT. I will tell you flat out if I disagree, and present another way or add something, but I will not bash you on the PISTON MESSAGE BOARD! And I expect the same from all of you vets here too!

What we say here, has nothing to do with the Off Topic Board. And Boys and Girls who have been here with me, with the rest of our Pistons family, I WILL ALWAYS HAVE YOUR BACK!

If you want the best, nothing can beat the Official Stephen King message forums.

Ah piston priest, no disrespect, but it almost sounds like the next thing you'll be saying is "make sure you buy my book over at the Official Stephen King message forums". I know, it was a cheap pop, and you went for it, I understand.

These forums are REAL, so i get how it can be hard with so many extreme personality's, yet if you think bout it, that makes it the best, it truly grasps all demographics too, where else you get that?

Voice of Reason, YOU ARE SPOT ON RIGHT! Every year, we tend to go through this CRAP ON EACH OTHER, I SCORED POINTS AND INSULTED YOU HE HE HE, after the off season. These newer posters come in here, put up these stupid, lame, out of their freaking mind posts about trading the whole team and leaving nothing but the team plane, but we tend to get through it! And boy do I seem to attract them. I know everybody doesn't like what I have say sometimes, but when you get vets like Dr. Evil calling you BANDWAGON JUMPERS, that really is an slap across my face! What he forgets is, we are all here for the same reasons, we LOVE THE PISTONS, and we want to see them do well. But when we go CAV FAN, and eat our own, I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT! I'm just trying to figure out why I respect and love what our posters have to say for the most part, and why crap tends to drip on my face? Oh well, just part of being a Bad Boy I guess! For every 5 or 6 negative posts I get, there are a lot more positive responses through just reading or a PM, that I get, that makes it fun to post here.

But one thing that really ticks me off, is when these guys come in here, assume you've never seen one Piston game in your life with their comments. They never ask the person they question, they just sling that mud baby! We are Family here, nobody else likes us in this league, or across the country, but we always seem to find a way to succeed and be the fly in their ointment! Well, we have a few flies in the Pistons Message Board, but time has the just the right bug spray for them! This whole thing is just a digital conversation, but too many people love doing the crib notes version. If I can get any of these Newbies to join in a conversation, instead of capfest 2009, I've done my job. And like someone once said, "there's no me, without you"! We write and say whatever we want, but if nobody is out there reading or responding, well we're just wasting megabytes!
