he doesn't look as skilled as advertised, but he's been making some nice hustle plays over the past few games. especially tonight. nice to have a guy like that since maxiell packed it in after he got paid. hopefully jerebko keeps it up

Wow. I was thinking pretty much the same thing about him. Not really great at anything, but can do a lot of stuff pretty good and NEVER stops trying.

Gotta love his effort.

Hopefully with all his effort he eventually gets results, which will get him paid. At that point it is time to separate himself from any and all Jason Maxiell comparisons.

I like this guy also. He is the grit that has been missing from this team, and he isn't afraid of contact. He makes Tay so expendable now and I know Joe is angry at not taking that trade for Rondo now.

jerebko looks more like a pf to me, so i dont think he makes prince expendable. daye, however, is certainly making his case tonight

I see him as a 3/4 type player.

definitely not all star material, but you need someone like that to make the gritty plays, something that Tay hasn't been doing for awhile now. It's good to see that Ben wallace has been passing down the get to work tradition.

To me, he has top NBA athleticism, but likes to use it doing the garbage work. I love guys like that. As I said before, I see him as a poor man's Dennis Rodman who can hit the three and at least has some skill on offense.

Remember in 02-03 we brought 4 players (chauncey, rip, tay and memo).. What if this next 4 (b.g, c.v, daye, and j.j) bring a similiar impact to the pistons.. J.J is hustling like Memo use to... Like he has something to prove... I like that.. Nice pick Joe!!!

Bosh or Boozer will be a piston before the yr is over..

Good topic, OP. I have liked Jonas since the preseason but started LOVING him after our first game against the Magic, when he made his first starting appearance. He was terrible on offense, but I was willing to forgive that on account of he was playing against that freakish man-child known as Dwight Howard. What I really love about him is, frankly, he seems to give a ****. Unlike, say, Sheed and Chauncey, Jerebko plays with so much hustle it really is encouraging. His play reminds me of the entire Cavaliers team: not necessarily amazingly skilled, but plays with so much determination and intensity that the bottom line is that freaking ball is going through that freaking rim.

the main reason i said he could play both positions is his athletecism. It's better than above average and it's will allow him to run with other 3's in this league.

I'll agree with Sheed, but saying Chauncey didn't hustle is ridiculous. Just because he plays under control, doesn't mean he isn't hustling.

Jerebko has been a pleasing surprise so far. I could maybe see him as a Corliss/Junk Yard Dog type of player.

Jerebko, I'd like to see him start at the 4 and CV bring instant O off the bench with BG when Rip returns. I'd also like to see Daye get more minutes and eventually start at the 3.

The team is starting to look good on the Defensive end. I can't to see more ball movement and less turnovers.

Jonas has better range than Corliss or Jerome Williams. Both scored from under the basket.

I think Daye has more upside than Jerebko, and will eventually replace Prince at SF. Jerebko will be a very good backup PF, who can also play the 3.

Once Prince gets back, I believe Jerebko will be used primarily at PF, and should become Villanueva's primary backup. His size and scoring ability should place him ahead of Maxiell in the rotation.

At 6'10", are we going to see Jerebko playing at Center?

Agree. He plays with more effort than Max and has been consistently better. Max & Wilcox should be deactivated when Rip is back.
