Two uniform memorials for the Pistons: They're wearing a jersey patch for Hall of Fame coach Chuck Daly, and they've added "Mr. D" to their rear collar for Hall of Fame owner Bill Davidson. The Daly patch is just for this season, but the Davidson memorial is a permanent addition to the uniform -- the first permanent memorial in NBA uni history.

this thread will probably get deleted, locked or flamed, but that's ridiculous.

so is his name being plastered all over the court and hanging from the rafters. that's just way too much visibility for someone not on the basketball end, imo.

give him a hell of a memorial somewhere in the palace and call it a day

Hes the main reason the Pistons are the Pistons. Why are you so uptight, we have 3 letters on the jersey to honor the man, and that man is the only reason the Pistons were ever the Pistons.

Eh, I think it's a pretty classy way to commemorate the guy. Not to mention, they're not all that noticeable compared to that black stripe across the sleeve the Pistons were wearing.

Call me crazy, but I kind of agree. I also do not think that coaches should have numbers retired. It makes no sense. Number retirements are for players, and managers in baseball since they actually wear the number.
