If you're going to do this then why sign Charlie V? I think we can get better value than to trade 4 players for 1 even if it is Amare. I do agree with the sentiments of getting rid of those players mentioned in that trade with the exception of Max until we have a definite upgrade for his position...which may be Plaisted.
