The Detroit Free Press and Oakland Press both had their season preview in today's papers. Chucky Atkins was listed on both paper's rosters.

Jerebko and Daye both face one game suspensions for fights during the preseason. Keeping Atkins may just be to have an extra body around. Contracts aren't fully guaranteed until January, anyway.

Wow. I love Chuckster but his time has passed as his last good year was 06-07. Enjoy the bench.

This was a mistake signing... the real need was for a PG that could cause havoc on D (in the mold of a young Hunter).
Even though Chucky has learned to be more of a distributor... he's just another weak link on defense.

It's not a mistake signing. It's an irrelevant signing. He won't play unless there are some serious injuries. He won't even be on the active roster. And, his contract is probably so small that if they have to, they can waive him at any point during the season to make room for another player or to open up space to allow for a trade to happen.
