our defense swarms like i haven't seen in a while, if ever! an what does cleveland do? they just stand there an let lebron do all the work, an now split it up with shaq also, haha man we very well may be the reason lebron leaves, also since there all jump shooters an we swarm they all gonna get scared an brick there shots, i honestly am most confident in playing cleveland out of the big 3 in the east, orlando we own anyways, which by the way stones when we play them we gotta still keep pounding them to keep our psychological edge, they gonna play harder an harder each time they play us, to kill our edge. So we gotta keep reminding them there our lil B****es, an we gotta show boston how old they are, an how young we are. An why not burn sheed on the pick an roll, since thats whats killed us for the past couple of years, also back to cleveland big ben always got the better of shaq so im not worried, an kwame has been strong enough to keep him out of the paint just like he does to dwight, we very well are the achilles heel of the cavs, who can probably run over everyone but THE ALMIGHTY DETROIT PISTONS!!!

It was 1 pre-season game.

im aware of that, yet what u fail to realize is you, don't build on anything after we lose to the old farts on top, we started last night, an we continue it, all the way till june! It's about stamping a mind set for the stones, an around the league to those who TRY to oppose us... just trust me on this one

What you don't seem to realize, is that you have absolutely no grasp on reality. It was one pre-season game.

I'm not agreeing, or disagreeing, I'm saying it was one meaningless game.

it wasn't meaningless at all, the stones didn't take it that way, nor did the very good heat take it that way(which backed up the fact of my old thread that said we must not take anyone lightly, cause they won't take us lightly) if we wanna lose in may we look at it your way, im thinking we'd rather look at it my way... An we have yet to deploy perhaps our most deadly new weapon charlie villanuava

Sure, I'd love to look at it your way.

I'd love to win the lottery, and for Kim Kardashian to be naked in my bed when I get home today from work.

Unfortunately, reality will set in sooner or later. I hope for their sake, and for mine (a fan) that you're right.

But I would hold off until at least the end of the pre-season to determine anything.

Haha, Voice... alright big guy, love the optimism. I share your same outlook that I believe our Pistons will be a lot better than people believe. Maybe a 4 or 5 seed this year. But you have to realize, we only have 6 returning players from our roster last year, and even though last year was a debacle, all these new faces will need at least a year to develop solid chemistry with one another. I look at it as... Dumars had a decent draft, signed three good but not great 25-27 year old players in BG, CV, and Wilcox, and kept around solid pieces such as Rip and Tay to either help the current squad or use as trade bait. We have a good team and a good plan. Good plan I say? When do NBA players peak in their overall performance and athleticism. Between the ages 27-29. He grabbed two "on the brink" all-stars in BG and CV who haven't hit their full potential yet but are about to. Do you see the greatness out of this? I'm optimistic. But not like you voice. Boston, Cleveland, and Orlando will still dominate our young squad THIS year. You say we own Orlando... yeah, but that was when we had Sheed, and he was 75% of the reason why we dominated them... plain and simple, I shouldn't have to go into detail. Lebron gets better every year, and now he has a solid 10/10 oldass Shaq. Lebron has owned us the past 3 years without Shaq. Need I say more. And Boston. They're too deep. And KG's back. With Sheed off the bench. Our young squad cannot compete with those veterans THIS year. We need to be worried about dominating the Atlantas, Chicagos, and Miamis. After we do that, we may take a big step in being able to compete with the big three EVENTUALLY (most likely not this year). But I love the optimism.

Could you be a little bit over excited? I know the season is around the corner and the promising guys showed off their potential against Wade's gang, but come on.

Im betting that the Pistons will surprise a lot of people, maybe even be the 4th seed, last season playoff run was tight and I can see the team fighting for that 4th seed like the Heat and Hawks were last season.

What?!!!

head-to-head Shaq has avg'd 25 pts (while shooting 58%) 10 rbds and 1.5 blks vs Ben. Ben 5 pts 9 rbds 1.5 blks

When any player on avg routinely outscores your man by 20ppg on 58% shooting you should be worried.

I was thinking about coming back to the Pistons Talk sections, but then I read this and I realized I should wait at least another month.

When shaq in his prime being the most dominant force in basketball history, faced ben wallace. Ben wallace completly owned him, shaq should of dropped 30 plus on a 6 foor 7 guy. thats 50-75 maybe 100 pounds less then him

When we still own the magic this year, what gonna say is the reason we owned em in the past, it wasn't all sheed ya know, maxy put in a lot of work against chicken legs dwight howard, an dice split time with sheed on him. You honestly think sheed was glued too him every minute dwight was on the floor, also ben wallace did very good on him last playoffs, an guess what we have ben wallace, along with kwame, the man who doesn't let dwight get where ever he wants, sheed used his savy on dwight, kwame goes toe to toe with brute force, an owns him
