Found this interesting even though he didn't elaborate.

Joel(Michigan): sup dave. Pistons have been playing better with the big line up instead of the 3 guard small lineup. Do you think the pistons should trade RIP, if so who should they trade him for.

David Thorpe: I actually thought Prince would be the better guy to move.

I like the espn daily dime; talking about Rip being a 6th man. Rather than trading anyone.

He is our only legit SF we have a log jam in the backcourt. how does that make sense at all. Rip can not play the 3, he'll get abused by the elite SF of this league.

Thats why I was hoping he would elaborate a little. Moving Prince wouldn't make any sense.

Moving Prince would **** me off because I just bought his jersey Friday at the OKC game to replace my Chauncey jersey. Getting sick of the players whose jerseys I buy getting traded. Big Grin

Thanks for everything Chauncey.

I can only imagine that this guy feels Tay would fetch more in trade than Rip. There is some logic to moving Tay. Tay struggles against Lebron and Pierce. I doubt Rip would be any worse and if Tay can get us a better player then why not? While we are playing better the truth is we don't have enough to get past Boston or Cleveland. Joe needs to make another move if we are going to compete for a Championship this year.

I think what David was thinking is that Tayshaun is probably a more coveted player than RIP is, so they can get more in return. Who doesn't want a 6'9" SF that can defend one on one, does all the little things and never gives you any problems?

We could maybe get a SF and a big man for Tayshaun while RIP is a catch and shoot guy who needs a strong PG to get his baskets.

But I agree Tayshaun is just fine in Piston blue.

Iverson is an luxury experiment.

He was brought here to boost tickets sales, make us a faster and more exciting team but, most importantly he was brought here to give his a huge cap space at the end of the year.

If he took us past the ECF then that would be the bonus. Then you find away to keep him cheap while landing a big time free agent and a solid role player in the offseaon to launch us back to the top.

if it fails badly, you cut your losses, draft
good and hit the FA hard.

But you don't just gamble away your core for a rental. you don't toss away Rip because you're team hasn't jelled. That's not smart.
