I was just wondering why Austin Daye is making more money than Will Bynum as a rookie? He hasn't proved anything yet. I believe if bynum didnt have that miraculous game against the bobcats where he scored 20 points in the 4th quarter we would have missed out on the playoffs entirely. I think by Dayes salary being double Bynums is a for sure sign ole Joe d is going to trade Tayshaun Prince.

Because Bynum was signed to a minimal non-guaranteed contract and Daye was signed to a rookie scaled contract which is worth a little something when you're a first rounder.

1st round picks get more than free agents signed from Europe.

Depends on the free agent and what he signed for. If the free agent signed for the league minimal, like Bynum did...then yes.

Free agents coming from Europe usually get around the league minimum.

Player wise who has more ability to change the game??? Therefore I think the Pistons should definitely pay Will Bynum especially after tonite. He was the Pistons leading scorer again.

What are you, his agent or a long-lost cousin?
Seriously though, Will Bynum is going to get paid next year by someone. Hopefully the Pistons. I like his game a lot.

Depends on the player. Someone like Josh Childress who'll come back from Europe eventually will get more then the league minimal.

While I agree Will is gonna get paid after this season, it won't be by the Pistons, he is good as gone when his contract is up. The Pistons don't have his bird rights so they won't be able to match if a team offers over the MLE for Will's services. Which is almost certain to happen.

Looks Joe D is planning on having Daye around for a while, he's probably counting on him being our starting SF at some point.

Allen Iverson, C.J. Watson, Jarret Jack, Nate Robinson, Ramon Sessions, and Raymond Felton didn't get above the MLE. No one is going to pay Bynum that much.

Bynum will get a Flip Murray type deal. Book it.

A lot of teams have cap space next season and after LBJ, Wade and co all resign with their original teams, a lot of average players will get big deals next offseason.

bynum is a restricted free agent after this season so we should be able to match any contract offer.

Bynum was signed as a Third point guard. Of course he isnt going to making as much as a 1st rounder.

Childress might be the only exception.

Anthony Parker, dude that signed with Toronto few years ago who messed up his knee, plenty of others too. There are plenty of guys who come over from overseas who get decent contract, depends on how good they are. Bynum signed an unguaranteed contracted tho.

1st round draft picks have a set salary based on what # they are taken. Bynum is not a 1st round pick, so the Pistons can give him a small contract but his next one should be good.
