I think this would be an excellent trade for Detroit and the Grizzlies. Of course Detroit would have to throw in someone else to get it done. But the Grizzlies haven't offered Gay an extension I believe Gay would help our team greatly and he's definitely not afraid to shoot or drive the ball for a spectacular jam. Get Gay for Prince.

That make more sense than most proposed trades, but I think Daye should be Prince's replacement. He can shoot, rebound and block shots. He just needs to get stronger, and learn to defend. By the time Prince's contract expires, Daye should be ready to start.

Gay isn't a young star. Pass on this deal.

Prince is better than Gay. This would be a downgrade.

Gay makes $3,280,997 vs. $10,324,380 of Tay. Maybe we could throw in Maxiell's $5 million, and a rookie (Summers or Washington).

Are we going for an all Connecticut lineup? Why would Memphis do it?

No, Memphis would have to throw in another player or two to make this work.

AND Tayshaun is the most unselfish SF in the league (to the point that it is a fault).

Gay honestly never passes the basketball. 1.7 assists in 37+ minutes a game last year, amazingly pathetic. I'm not seeing how it makes sense to add one of the biggest ball hogs in the NBA to a team that's already loaded with offensive talent.

Doesn't it make more sense for this team to have a glue guy at the three instead of Gay?

Right. I guess I'm just anxious to get rid of Maxiell. But, I believe Memphis is the only team under the cap. According to Shamsports, their salaries total $56,813,483. That's almost $15 million under the cap. They could take on a lopsided deal. But, I don't want Gay. I'd rather see Daye take it from Prince.

If they wanted Maxiell, we could take nothing in return. With our depth up front, we don't need him or his $5 mil/4 yr contract.

Memphis would do this because they arent resigning Gay. Prince would be around for 2 years.

And gay is better than Prince. Much more talented scorer, and better defender. Not to metnion much younger.

I rather trade Prince & Maxiell together for Bosh. If Toronto doesn't think he will be back after 2010, maybe they make that trade. Could also throw in a draft pick or two if needed.

Why give up so much for an expiring contract? We should only trade if we can re-sign him. But, he and Villanueva are both PF's so we don't need him unless CV leaves as part of the trade.

CV wouldn't need to leave because Maxiell would be. That gets rid of Maxiell, and I think the Pistons would be good with Bosh. The Pistons would try to get him signed to an extension, or re-sign him in the summer if he tested the market. CV would be willing to come off the bench. How strong would a bench with BG & CV be!!??

If Bosh came to Detroit he'd move to the 5 spot.
