Anyone still watching the Pistons at this point has to be either a masochist or a fool. The Pistons can't even compete with the most hapless teams in the NBA. No excuses. Joe D needs to do some major work over the summer if he wants to see anything like a contender next year. Firing Curry would help.

What always kills me is how they keep it close until the end of the game and then blow it. I'd rather know it was going to be a blow out and watch something else.

I still watch them because they are my favorite team.

I don't like being punched in the face while having sex though.

I haven't stopped nor will I. I understand what is going on with team right now and I am just watching the drama it takes for us to rebuild. I have no problem with it. Detroit Basketball for life!

Spoken like a true modern Pistons fan. Note the word "modern." The same people who made it impossible for fans to buy tickets during the Championship year are now frantically searching every Dunham's in town for Michigan State paraphernalia.

I grew up with this team, through Bing, Mengelt and Laineer, Terry Tyler and Vitale, Tripucka and Thomas, the Bad Boys, the Very Bad Boys (the pre-Grant Hill era) Grant Hill, to Ben, Rip, Chauncey and now the current retooling. I continue to watch because what they're going through now was inevitable.

It's not pretty but the Guard had to change. While I may play Lockerroom Lawyer and question some of Joe D.'s moves, I still have faith in Joe's long-range vision.

I will watch them play if they start playing with effort, not like playing just because they have it in their schedule or playing like they are in a scrimmage.

I will also watch them play if they set their ego aside and start playing as a team instead of worrying who is going to start and come off the bench.

I will watch them play when they are prepared to play every night.

Right now, it seems they don't care when they are playing.

Then I don't care either. It goes both ways.

Reals fans can be masochistic and foolish at times. And they never drop their team.

I have a lot going on, but that being said, it never stopped me in the past from finding the games. I think my disinterest is more with the NBA in general. I want to see defense, not the rules of the game modified to cater to individual superstar players.

C-Bill's was my boy, so that hurt a lot, and AI is my second least fav player currently playing...#1 is Nash the Fraud...so that didn't help either.

That being said, I did not understand why Stuckey was starting over Rip or AI. Seemed like a really stupid decision to give him something he really did not earn. He could not beat out Chauncey, so they traded him, but he still wasn't better than AI or even Bynum on some nights.

John "Crash" Mengelt, one of my favorites! We could use a few more like him today.
Unfortunately, I don't think we've had a coach this much over his head since Dickie V. And until that changes, this team won't go anywhere.

What if this all backfires on Joe D and the rebuilding process takes like 5 years?

I have always had confidence in Joe to turn things around quick but with Curry at the helm, you never know.

This thread is looking pretty foolish itself right now (considering we are in for an interesting playoff run with our current "finding" of ourselves).

It's a lame thread anyways because you watch your team through good times and bad times (I'm guessing the author of this thread would be first in line for a divorce when things get rough on the home front).

But it's actually looking like it's going to be a fun playoff team to watch right now. I say if we get out of the first round... anything goes.

Took a right on Lyndale I'm getting near
But then the road became empty and the people disappeared
The clouds ran away, opened up the sky
And one by one I watched every constellation die
And there I was frozen, standin in my backyard
Face to face, eye to eye, starin at the last star
I should've known, walked all the way home
To find that she wasn't here, I'm still all alone.

You want to see masochists look to Boston or Cav fans of the past 25 years. We've had our successes and we will soon have more, I love following the pistons either way it makes me a fan .

I sometimes ask myself why I am a Lions fan. I've never doubted being a Pistons fan though, not even for a second. Some "fans" just have unrealistic expectations of how good a team can be for how long. The Pistons, and the Wings, have just spoiled us.
