Cavs Could Use Ilgauskas As Trade Chip

Shall we get him?

He is still better than Big Ben and Kwame in my opinion.

He is one one the few Centers in the league who can "spread the floor", together with Yao Ming, Sheed, Aldridge, Bargnani, Okur and Marc Gasol

Well, i don't mind getting rid of Maxiell n his contract together with Kwame Brown (n his expiring contract) for Big Z.

They may ask for RIP though, since they want to have a starting lineup with Shaq, Varejao, Lebron James, RIP n Mo Williams, with Powe, A.Parker, j. Moon backing up.

I certianly wont give up RIP for Big Z. but if they're interested in Kwame's expiring contract n Max n save another 2 mil, i won't mind

c) Big Z.
pf) Charlie V.
sf) Prince
sg) Rip
pg) Stuckey

Sub:

C) Big Ben
pf) Wilcox, Jerebko
sf) Summers, Daye
sg) Gordon, Washington
pg) Bynum

I think the starting lineup is slightly better

Big Z, in my opinion, is the reason why the Cavs will not win a championship. He's a complimentary big man. Add him to a superstar and it's nice. Don't make him your focal point in the front court. We would be screwed. I'd rather have a younger Kwame who can still develop than a middle-aged soft player.

I don't think the salaries would match. Ilgauskas will make $11,541,074 next season.

Z's contract makes him a toxic asset. Maybe I'd give up Max for him, but, then again, probably not.

Z has no lateral movement, at all. Can't show on screens, forget him. He'd give you points in the paint but the other guy playing against him would drop twenty on him.

If this was Z five years ago, maybe.

Kwame is far and away the better one on one defender, even if his weakside D and point production is weak.

It would not hurt to give up Brown & Max for Z. He is a better rebounder & shot blocker, can score when he gets the ball, and shoots 80% on FTs. Plus he is 7'-3" tall, 260, and shoots 39% on 3's. He is a good defender and would help the Pistons.

What makes you think Big Ben is starting, cause I can assure you he won't.

Big Z was the starter not Big Ben. Big Z would be the starter if he came to Detroit.

dude, Illgauskas passed Middle aged a LONG time ago.

this thread sucks. Illgauskas is stapled to the floor, slow as HELL, we already have 5 PF's who can spread the floor, no need for a center who does the same. Somebody has to be in the paint.

Big Z is still better at everything then Maxiell. What the Pistons would need is his 7'3" size, shot blocking, and rebounding.

i doubt that notion, around here were not dumb enough to run a team like cleveland does. big ben starts over z every day of the week in my book. even ben of present, so im not stuck in the past. For those who may perceive me to be

the only thing z does better then maxiell, is umm travel, shoot, an free throws. mad max can dunk better obviously, run better, not travel, better inside game, better defender, by the way best kept secret is that maxiell is the real lebron stopper, yet smart guy curry didn't put him on lebron at all, an yes that includes the perimeter!!! that alone trumps Z. An i think hes a better blocker, max just has limited minutes, oh yes an of course maxiell can pick an roll, crash boards, show on screens(one of the best in the league) should i keep going?

Don't let last season fool ya, maxy is still maxy

Joe replaced Billups with Stuckey to get the team to run more. Billups was good in the half court offense, but did not score or make plays in transition.

Ilgauskas can't run and wouldn't fit in with what the Pistons are trying to do on offense.

A trade would make no sence for Z. The Pistons don't want to make the Cavs better than they are and the Cavs don't want to help the Pistons get better than what they are. Trades within the division are extremly rare... and it won't happen here.

better defender, by the way best kept secret is that maxiell is the real lebron stopper? NO, he is not a better defender than Z, and if he could stop LBJ we would not have been swept. Even LBJ is taller than Max. Max can't even avg 1 block. Big Z could. He can also rebound better than Max. Max is a great dunker but that has always been it.
