"The Pistons are expected to add another big man this offseason, with Ben Wallace and Rasho Nesterovic as the top options.

Detroit is looking for a third point guard as well, and will likely give out one-year, veteran's minimum deals to whoever they sign."

Lets compare the two.

Both mid 30's keep in mind.

Last year, the washed up Ben wallace averaged these numbers in 25mpg.

7rpg, 1bpg, 1spg.

Rasho's best season of his career had him averaging 7.3rpg, which was in 2003.

So in Ben Wallaces worst season, he put better numbers than Rasho put up in his prime. Not to mention, Ben played 5 less minutes.

So who should we sign? I think its obvious.

Big Ben because I really think coming back would get him pumped up to prove the last few years he wasn't used right.

I think that's probably the RIGHT move, especially if CV can be used in a fashion similarly to Sheed. If Ben's post presence can't improve CV's help side defense, then that means that kid has a ton of work to do. No one expects CV to put anything similar to Sheed on either end, but I think his game can be slid into the game plan in a similar fashion, as long as a defensive post playing 5 is on the floor. Wow, there's Ben.

How (insertSteven A Smith voice) Raaasho Nestarovich is an option, I'll never understand!

Big Ben all the way.

Also, I think CV will be better than Rasheed offensively (the 2009 Rasheed anyway). Sheed shot twice as many 3s as FTs. That's ridiculous for a big man. CV can hit the 3 OK (not great, but OK), and he also has a mid range game, can run, and score off the dribble. Defense... that is where Sheed will be sorely missed.

I think CV averaged only 2-3 threes per game last season. Thats attempts btw.

He does the majority of his scoring midrange or on the block.

We basically got a younger sheed, minus some little things. But CV has some things sheed never did.

It would be sad to see all you guys start calling for Big Bens retirement soon after giving him such acolades.

Not everybody hear is so close minded.

The knee jerk reactions are hilarious. But I dont think there is any way he averages less than the 6-7rpg he had last seaosn.

Stuckey/Bynum
Rip/Gordon
Tay/Summers/Daye
CV/Max/Wilcox
Kwame/Big Ben

I like that a lot more than last years roster...I will miss Dyce, but getting Big Ben back will make up for it, especially since the Spurs could very well win it all next year and get Dyce his ring. Plenty of depth in the frontcourt, what looks to be legit backup sf/pf's in daye and summers, and ben gordon coming off the bench instead of crap head iverson. I'd still like rip to get traded for a real center though.

Oh I think they like me, better yet I know, lights camera action when I walk through the door...

I'd rather have this lineup:

Stuckey/Bynum
Gordon/Rip
Tay/Daye
CV/Max
Wilcox/Big Ben/Kwame

Do we really need a veteran as our third string Center though?

Ben is not better than Wilcox anymore. And we need size on our frontcourt, every team should have at least one 7 footer in its roster. Ben Wallace cannot help us on that, he is like 6'8". Kwame is 6'11" n Wilcox is 6'10", people are still complaining at the undersize of our frontcourt.

Why dont we invest that money on a younger, higher ceiling big? I'll go for Johan Petro, since he is not needed in Denver (Nene, Birdman n Hunter in front of him in pecking order), th Nuggests are not likely to match our 1.3mil bid
He is 7 foot, 250lb and tons of potential. I wanted him back in 2005 draft but he was taken ealier n we had Maxiell instead.

Petro should know, he may end up playing in Europe if he doesn't accpet our contract. His salary will be half or one-third of the 1.3mil if he plays in spain/Italy/Greece

If not Petro, why not Cheikh Samb? I have no idea why several teams do not want him either

Other than Petro n Samb, i may also look at Aaron Gray(!!! This guy averaged 4 rebounds in 13 minutes, almost 15 rebounds in 48minutes!! And 7'2"), Dwayne Jones n Hollins as third string C. Robert Swifr had series of injuries that nearly end his career.

We are talking about 3rd string C here, u just need to accpet the role, practice hard and impress.

I like Johan Petro and Aaron Gray myself

Is Aaron Gray still available? This kid is 7'1", and averaged 15rebounds in 48minutes (4rebounds in 12.8minutes in season 08/09)

I know He is a restricted free agent, but if we offer him a vet's minimum, the Bulls may not match our bid right?

Hows the bull's financial situation?

Any news on Petro and Aaron Gray?

Rasho. 7 Feet Tall, 255 pounds. Same PT as Kwame last season a couple more points, less rebounds, 78% on FTs. Unless we can get another 7 footer who is better for the vet min, take Rasho. We have a small front line, and Rasho is not undersized like Ben/Max. Also if you look at Bens 2009 playoff stats they show his age: 36 in September. Ben avg 1 pt & 3 rebs & was a +3.71 in 13 minutes.
