If you are talking about the game 2K10 then yea, they have have been lowballing the Pistons for the last 8 years, actually, Tay's rookie season they had him rated like 59 and his second year like 63, and after they won the title it was still only like 70.

Seriously though, I'm not sure how much stock to put into overall rankings. I'd have to see what skills they value the most and how they rate Rip and Gordons indvidual skills like passing, mid range shooting, three pointing etc. before I can say wheter these rankings suck or not.

As far as Rondo goes, my guess is that his ranking is inflated by certain defensive categories and rebounding.

I have no issue with those ratings. While some players might rate high in certain catergories, it is the average that give the ranking. Stuckey, therefore, would likely have a high quickness and dribbling but low shooting, defense, offensive/defensive awareness, passing etc.

Max is rated around where he should be. I know nothing about Daye, but we will see.

These rankings make no sense. Lawson and Flynn have higher rankings than Stuckey? But Daye is rated as a scrub?

The 2k series fails, as usual.

Back then he did contribute to the title win and still hadn't reached his ceiling, I used to love TAy, he was my favorite player on the team, now it's become obvious that he isn't as good as I thought he once was, his ball handling hurts him inside, I've see him lose the handle som many times, he can't get enough control to make a good move.

Chris Wilcox that low??

Thought NBA live gave him a "75" last year, i think thats pretty good consider B.Haywood is 70, Al Hoford is 76 n Aldridge is 78

How tall is Jerebko in the game?

just to clear up some confusion, 2K changed the rating system this year. it goes from 25-99 as opposed to 50-99 in the past.

last year, stuckey was an 83, hamilton an 86, gordon an 87, bynum a 79, etc

but anyway, rondo is wayyy to high. according to 2K, he's a top 10 player. and i think wilcox might be a little too low...and wallace too high

Fails? 2k owns all basketball games every year. It's not the 90s anymore

btw, the ratings will level out once the season starts. 2K9 shipped with greg oden as the second coming of david robinson. then his rating dropped once he got exposed in real life

Rondo has the same overall rating as Tim Duncan. That just doesn't seem right. I understand Rondo has the ability to excel in a vareity of categories.....but come on. Ben Wallace got a 71? Yet Maxiell and Wilcox were under the 70 mark? The Charlie V. is just one point better than Wallace. It just doesn't make sense.

In real life I think the Pistons are going to make 4th, 5th 6th seed in the East, but in this game they are going to flat out suck. I'm guessing Kwame Brown is rated below Jerebko since he wasn't even on the list, and he is probably going to start in real life.

Well, I believe that only Celtics, Cavs, Magic and Hawks have better team ratings in the East. We're tied with Philly and the Wizards.

But I have to say that it's really stupid that they have us with a better team rating defensively than we have offensively.

Not to sure I like this. Rating changes = possible gameplay changes. The combine was a bit different. I'm sure they'll figure it out.

The fact that EA landed one of 2k's head project designers could come into play this year.

2k sports haven't released a quality basket ball game since the Dreamcast era. I bought 2k9 and was thoroughly disappointed with the entire game.

I thought 2k8 and 2k9 were both quality basketball games. They improve every year, although the commentary still drives me crazy.

If 2k doesn't make good basketball games, then who does? NBA Live is a joke.

Can't say I agree with the 2k bashing. I've enjoyed the last 4 years.

What do you enjoy about 2k9?

It sucked to me. The game play is slow, complicated, and frustrating.

2k9 is the only game I've played where the computer blocks your 3 point jump shots. It's just uneal, you pump fake them about 10 times and they do not bite, then when you go to shoot over them they turn Josh Smith and swat your **** into the sidelnes. Yet whenever I try to block their jumpshots, I look at the replay and the ball literally goes through my arm. I have never blocked one of their players off a jump shot.

The game is flawed. There is absolutely no stopping players who post up. The shot WILL be made if it isn't blocked or stolen or if the player isn't fouled. I get murdered by Pau Gasol and every other big on the game.

Horrible, just horrible gameplay in my opinion. It's no where as "realistic" as everyone says it is.

It was pretty fun on Dreamcast though.
