They are stacked at every posistion and they don't have to worry about scoring droughts anymore now that they have Ben Gordon. Their defense is great and their chemistry will be the cause of them winning it all.

If you disagree explain why.

I dont disagree youre 100% right. But do you think that they can make a 3-peat? Im sure about winning this season and repeating the next one, but 3 in a row will be extremely difficult for them.

Except a PG that actually can run the Point, two big men that can dominate the post, a suffocating defense, leadership, legendary coach with assistants who become head coaches elsewhere...but other than that, yes, no changes.

Yeah, But Im just saying that they will repeat what they did in 04, which is winning the ship, then they will accomplish a repeat in 2011.

Basically all Im saying is that our new Pistons are championship caliber, but Im not sold on them as a Dinasty just yet. But maybe they prove me wrong and win the next four tournaments.

Excuse me?

Everything about this post is wrong. Stuckey is a great Point Guard. Kwame Brown is underrated, Big Ben is back for motivation and leadership and Prince and Hamilton are great leaders also. Kruester is a good coach and with that combination the pistons are title contenders #1

As I have stated before, the Pistons will surprise us all and definetly the MEDIA. They seem to come alive when you least expect it. Gordon and Vanilla will give the Pistons offense they have been lacking as of late. Add Kruester's defense, you have a Pistons team that will come up and kick the Cavs in their butts. Hey, we have an advantage now. We have a coach who knows what the cavs do. You get my drift? Anyway, I'm sure Boston would take care of Cleveland if the two met.

His post is exactly right. Stuckey is not Billups, at least not yet. Kwame may be underrated, but that's only because most people think he totally sucks. He is nowhere near as good as Ben or Sheed where in 2004. CV isn't as good as them either. Ben is a shell of his former self. Prince is a great leader, but not a vocal one. Hamilton could be a great leader, but he loses his cool too often. Kuester may end up being a great coach, but he hasn't proven anything yet. If they don't make a huge trade, I don't see this team competing for a championship for at least a couple of years.

That's funny, when I read the thread title, I started thinking of how we musta wasted a draft pick and what on earth is Joe gonna use to trade for Sheed with. I also was like dam, could he trade to get CBill back? That'd make GMOY for sure!

I think this team is a 38-42 win team. But we are not better than Boston, Cleveland LA, Denver, Utah or SA really maybe for that matter. We'll be in decent have if we can be 2nd or 3rd in our own division! Milwaukee looks like they could be their 03-04 team, solid but out in the first round. But thats solid for Hammond. Side note: not even the start of the season yet. Calm down on wanting to be the first to call us a championship contender!

In 2003, the Pistons had a fresh young team that got them to the ECF. They were middle of the pack good until they landed Sheed.

If this same roster is with us next season, and we land a good big man (Chandler, Okafor type) Then the team could win a championship next year. We are only 1 good player away.

This core we got is going to grow together on the court and be pretty **** good for a long time.

Let me also add that in 2004, the Pistons were expected to win 50+ and be a contender. This season it seems just Pistons fans expect that to happen.

Not quite:

Kwame 2009 is nowhere near Ben Wallace 2004.

CV is good, but he's no Sheed. I don't care what the stats are, anybody who thinks he can have the same impact is delusional.

Tayshaun has gone downhill the past few years.

Rip is still about the same.

Stuckey is not as good as Billups. He may be able to put up big numbers, but I doubt he'll have the same impact on games as Billups.

Keep in mind that in 2004 the East was much weaker than it is now, and we met the Lakers just in time for them to self-destruct. We now have to face Cleveland, Boston and Orlando in the East, and a much-improved LA (and possibly San Antonio).
