What in the world is wrong with the Shock? I'm very disappointed. Do they miss Laimbeer that much? Pardon the expression but are they still in "Shock" that Bill is gone? I know that it's hard letting go. But by coach Laimbeer leaving it's not like losing a love interest with your heart being broken; or is it? I mean we have the 2006 and 2009 Finals MVP's in Deanna Nolan and Katie Smith along with the 2007 allstar MVP in Cheryl Ford and we're 6-10?
I know Plenette is out for the season and Tweety and Cheryl Ford aren't 100% yet; but my goodness. What happened to the fear you used to strike in your opponents hearts when they walked on the Palace court? Now it's almost like every team is putting a check mark in the win column before the jump ball even goes up.
I love my Shock and it pains me to see them go through this. I hope the severe underachievement of the Pistons last season isn't rubbing off! Maybe if they didn't allow any air in-between themselves and their opponents when they're on defense instead of giving them 6 feet of space we can get some stops. Ford was out last year and Plenette played hurt and we still won. This year the opposite is true. So what is the problem?
You are playing as if you want to wind up in the lottery next season. I "ain't goin' for that! If you're going to miss Bill that much, then remember what he once said, "you're the Eastern Conference Champions! Represent it like you're supposed to!" Well just substitute ECF for, "you're the defending WNBA Champs! Represent it like you know it!"
You should know by now when you win a title how hard it is to repeat. From what I am seeing, you are on the same path that the Phoenix Mecury were on last year; out of the playoffs. Come on ladies! To my beloved Shock: BILL IS GONE! HE'S NOT WALKING BACK THROUGH THOSE PALACE DOORS! So play like you're the 3 time defending world Champs! There is still time! We Detroit fans still believe in our ladies. The question is, do you believe in yourselves? Go Shock!!!
