With the Shock gone to OK, does this forum disappear?

Or do we start a Detroit Shock nostalgia group like so many long defunct teams seem to have?

It should disappear.
Response to the "Dear Shock Fan" email from brother Tom
Tom:

Funny. You didn't call this one "Shocking News" though unlike prior emails this one really was.
I'm truly insulted - and so should all of Detroit.
"Unfortunately, as with the majority of businesses in our area, the current state of the economy has presented us with incredible challenges."
Right. Excellent example you've set -- don't ride it out; pull up stakes and get the h*** out.
"We, like many of you, have had to make some very difficult decisions "
Exactly. My decision is to stop going to anything run by Palace Sports & Entertainment.
You've got enough profit on other items (and enough accumulated wealth) that this was an UNNECESSARY decision. Don't compare yourself to people facing difficult choices in hard times.
"On behalf of our coaches, . . . "
I'd like to know what you've done to protect Rick Mahorn.

Sincerely disappointed,

The Shock were one of the few playoff teams that weren't filling up their arenas. Even LA's Staple Center had more people in the gym. Phoenix stayed packed, Seattle stayed packed, Indy could fill lower levels, Conn. stays packed even though they were down this season, NY draws good crowds too! I can't say I didn't see this coming. Sad...because I love coming to Detroit...but business is business and there just weren't enough fans for this successful franchise. Frowner

I guess my reunion with Ruth Riley and my future fling with Sue Bird isn't going to happen, eh?
