Sorry, I wasn't with you guys for the bitter end, but I had hard drive problems. And I was still ticked at the defeat of the Shock by Indiana.

For us, this marks the end to sad but remarkable comeback season. Yes the Shock are the best team in the league, but they did not make it to where they wanted to be, or where we felt they should be. The coaching change, the flowing roster moves, the season ending injuries, and Mahorn's rebuilding of the team, put us right back on course to win, again! That is until we run into a team that didn't score a field goal for like the last 8 minutes of the game, but bowled into Shock players to draw a friendly whistle and two free throws, to score their winning points. And then there is the DAVID STERN IN THE ROOM! The possible folding of the league. This could be it for the Shock family, and our way of life!

When this league started, you couldn't find me looking at it, knowing about it, or even giving a care. And then some big guy named Laimbeer came, a lady named Cash, and a Tweety, some winning, and I was hooked! It's just too bad too many CAVE MEN, couldn't find it in their sports hearts to see what I saw, GREAT BASKETBALL AT IT'S PUREST FORM! They would rather watch geeks on dirt bikes, and dweebs with shades and cards, but not ladies hoops. Right now, this league is right at that point in the movie League of Their Own. We need a ROUGE guy to pick up this league, and help and keep it growing. If it has to do like the Arena Football, and hide out for a few years to the coast is clear economically, then do it, but DON'T FOLD IT UP!

These NBA guys all thought just because the teams were run buy the NBA teams, they would succeed. WELL, ISN'T THAT SPECIAL! By playing in these huge NBA arenas, instead of smaller college arenas, they make their great product look minor league, when it is not! Nobody ever said that when you finally get good, get a following, you couldn't go back to those HUGE NBA ARENAS!!! Just ask the Shock about that when it came down to WNBA Finals time!

Hopefully, we will find that maverick billionaire to carry on, or maybe the NBA brain trust, will find it in their fat wallets, to keep this league going. But if the Shock survive, they should move some of their games down to the actual 313 DETROIT AREA! Play at Cobo, the U of D's Calahan Hall, or even the Joe! The Shock do not need to be in a 22,000 seat arena, but a 10 to 15,000 seat one. And get rid of that BLACK CURTAIN!

As I told my friends from the now defunct Detroit Fury of the Arena Football League, it's not the end, and hopefully, I'll see you somewhere down the line, SITTING IN THE ENDZONE, SCREAMING OUR HEADS OFF!

GO SHOCK!

I hope the WNBA does not fold. Look at players like Tweety and Katie Smith and then tell me that these ladies don't deserve an avenue to play their sport professionally.
I don't know what people have against ladies hoops (I catch flack for watching it all the time) but it's good to have b-ball in the summertime. Plus I can take my nieces and nephews to games for very cheap and it's a lot of fun for them.

Now look at Shavonte Zellous - she's the beginning of a new Shock era!

See you next year, I hope!

I just wanna know what type of addictive mind bending crack are they putting in the hotel water of NBA executives, when they stay in Oklahoma City? First they almost gift wrap them the Hornets, then they move Seattle there, and now they've stolen OUR SHOCK!
I'M PIS-SED!

don't even know if this is possible, but it would be nice if we (Shock fans) could do what the people of Wisconsin did to keep the Packers in Green Bay. That is, to buy shares in the team. I would definitely pony up for at least one share in the Shock to keep them in Michigan, where they belong!

NOOOOOO. horrible news. I really hope this isn't true, but I'm guessing it it. I can't imagine Tulsa will have a better market.... man, this is so sad.

Well it looks like it's a done deal. With things like this, it usually comes down to finances. Yesterday when I put on the news, they were saying that the Shock lost money even in the title years with that extra playoff revenue. It's not good business to keep running something that consistently loses money. It's unfortunate for Shock fans, but that's the way of business.

I think that the NBA and the new owners are trying to tap into a market that doesn't have a lot of sports alternatives. It's pretty much a college sports area. They sold well when the Hornets were down there and I'm guessing they're doing ok with the Thunder so far. They'll try to tap into the Oklahoma Lady Sooners fan base. And, again, people down there aren't splitting money on MLB baseball or NHL hockey or NFL football (except the diehards that travel down to Dallas). It's a sports market that has the potential to spend better than Detroit.

Decisions like this are always going to be tied into the money aspect. This does suck though for Shock supporters, especially the diehard Shock fans.
